SAT scores

SAT scores for the May 1st ones came out today, how did everyone do? I got a 1900 which I'm very happy with, especially for my first time

there is technically no score broseph.

technically there are 3 subscores and thats it. theres no official total

Alright broseph, colleges seperate the writing from the math and the critical reading. when you are asked for your SAT score, the first two ( the crit. reading and the math) are being asked for, they have a maximum of 1600. Many colleges are now only looking at the writing section. So broseph you are wrong. But thanks for trying

well technically all three scores are sent to colleges. most primarily focus on math and critical reading, 1900 was including my writing. unfortunately i did the worst on math. without writing i got a 1240

if you got such a high SAT score you should be intelligent enough to use the search bar or even look at the page before you post as their is a thread 15 lines down already.

Fucking bad but i think my ACTs are pretty good 430[/b] Reading440[/b] Math480[/b] Writing
ending out in a 1350 which is good enough for where i want to go to college anyway so im fine with it

OP is a homo for obviously bragging about his score.

SAT scores matter so little to most people who will go to an instate school. Anyone who actually studies for aptitude tests and doesn't want to go to a top tier school should shoot themselves.

I am just confused why you think SAT scores have nothing to do with getting into college when there are minimum SAT score requirements.

If you see that minimum score and are sweating it out because you don't know for sure if you scored above it, you have no business in college whatsoever.

you are retarded.......

The first and only SAT i took, i got like a 1930. I dont really like the SAT though

The ACT is my kinda test, got a 31 (32 superscored), 35 on math, 34 on english

but I got my SAT2's back

800 Chemistry

690 Math 2

590 American History (i honestly dont know why i took this....)

Where I go to college, my freshmen year, the average was a 1200 and 90 GPA unweightedThen if you got a 1300 on your SATs (only two parts, hardly any colleges look at writing) then you needed like a 88 but if you had an 1100, then you needed a 92. It was a pretty sweet system, I mean, I made it without changing anything but one of my friends did nothing in high school, had like a 85 GPA with like a 1400 something so he was allowed in. Min scores were like you needed a 80GPA and 1000, which most people that try should get haha

I'm not sure yet.

I also got a 35 on my ACT, so I feel like I could go pretty close to anywhere, but I honestly wouldn't want to go to a super top-notch school. They are mostly in shitty places and are full of uptight people, from what I've heard.

I am looking at University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Colorado College, CU Boulder, or possibly somewhere in Oregon or Washington.

I want to stay out West, but get out of Utah for a while, and skiing is really important to me. Any suggestions?

why the fuck would you go to CU boulder with scores like that. maybe you're just a really good tester but i assume you're pretty smart. that school is super appealing in terms of skiing but you can do better. col college would be a better option

you are not as smart as i thought if you really mean that.

assuming your GPA is good too, why dont you go to middlebury or dartmouth or something? you can ski, and its a fucking great school (but not snobby and just a name like harvard).

dont waste your talent so you can have fun... go to a good school you bum

You didn't catch the part about wanting to stay out West. I want to be fairly close to family and in a place with real mountains. There really aren't any options like that out West, other than Stanford, which is even more selective than Harvard.

I don't feel like it would be a waste of talent. I'm going to get a degree beyond my bachelor's, so in the grand scheme of things, I feel like my undergrad school doesn't matter that much.

Also, you obviously don't know about UBC and CC. They are both great schools. Internationally, UBC professors actually publish the second highest number of papers yearly, trumped only by Harvard.

Yeah CC is a really good school. I'd check out Stanford, with scores like those, you could definitely get in. They have a private cabin up at Lake Tahoe so you would definitely get some skiing in.
I got a 690 on Math Level 2 and a 700 on US History... meh, could have done better, oh well.
