Sarah Palin: "You can actually see Russia from here in Alaska"

Except that we now have to vote for another minority (probably) government, before the US has their election.

i watched that this morning and decided she is a horrible vp

"i dont know what vp does anyway"

she hates skateboarding too fyi

(im republican just so you know)

god im so sick of hearing how hes a hero. props to him for his POW status i respect that, but they mention it like because he was a POW he now automatically should be president.

as for not a coward. hes to quick to jump and react, rather than thinking things through. but these are my last responses for tonight im tired and done

sorry got my figures messed up the 200 million. it was 155 in 2008.

or 200 some odd per person vs 22 by obama.

and 27 for her town of 9000, also absurd.

plus i cant find it but how much money was wasted on that bridge to nowhere?

except she really only appeals to women who dont want to chose what happens to them in terms of pregnancy

hmm so first hes an "elitiest" then that didnt change peoples opinions on him, so hey why not call him a dumbass from now on for a couple of remarks he made.

The arrogance and stuborness I have seen thus far from Palin is fucking terrifying.

except you did like bush, you dumb fuck

and you were wrong

and you're wrong this time

question: is john kerry an american hero? because if he isn't, neither is mccain. getting captured doesn't make you a hero.

I mean no disrespect about McCain's service and what he went through as a POW but I am really tired of his campaign and many other using that to get him into office. I can't even imagine what he went through and wouldn't wish it on anyone. That being said it doesn't not mean that just because he served his country and went through that horrific experience he should be a shoe in for president. If anything I think it makes me lose some respect for him because it is starting to feel like McCain is whoring out his story of being a POW. It seems like every time the he and his campaign are questioned on issues like why he has flip flopped so much or why he is now completely lying in ads about Obama they pull out the POW card.

It just goes to prove that McCain is a more honorable person than Obama.

McCain voluntarily sacrificed years of his young life to fight for his country, even though he could have easily gone back honorably before being captured. Obama, on the other hand, has never done one single thing for this country whatsoever. I ask you, what the hell has he done? He's a fucking community organizer, he's a socialist in the footsteps of Saul Alinsky. What the hell is a community organizer? Obama is a nobody. Obama spent his youth snorting cocaine and being mentored by a communist in Hawaii.

Please, I beseech any of you to name one thing Obama has ever done. He's a junior senator who had his political career launched by left-wing terrorists in Chicago. You're talking about lies from McCain, how about Obama's lies? His campaign manager shrugged off the Ayers connection saying something along the lines of that "they only knew each other because their kids went to the same school" which isn't even chronologically possible. Obama has a lot of trouble with chronology it seems. Are you seriously going to vote for someone with scum of the earth ties like Ayers, Wright, and Frank Marshall Davis over someone like McCain, who serves and believes in his country? All you fools are so far on the Anti-Bush/Republican bandwagon its amazing. Who the hell could the Republicans have nominated that you would not call "4 more years of Bush?"

You dont give real facts you just spin shit with 4 sentences of sarcastic crap for every sentence of truth.

Ron paul def wouldnt have been 4 more years. i still wouldnt have voted for him but... yeah.

And if everyone was smart they would all be on the Anti-Bush/Republican bandwagon!!! What has the Republican party done for this country in the last 8 years except get us into a BS war, killed education, healthcare and the middle class. Your are pretty much right I feel fairly confident in saying that probably anyone the republican party nominated I would say 4 more yrs of Bush. Because I am not a republican and I don't agree with there policies or views and I certainly don't want another dumba... republican in office who is going to make us even worse off than Bush has already done in the last 8 yrs. So what is your point????????

In my eyes, military service doesnt automatically make you an 'honorable' person. You get honor through selfless deeds and good will, which both candidates exhibit.

Kerry got so much shit from Republicans and "Swiftboat" adds, striking out against his qualifications to lead via his war record. One motherfucking hypocritical voter base if you ask me.

"terrifying" is exactly the word which came to my mind as well. some of the shit that has come out of her mouth... unbelievable.

The Debt of the united states is the only issue. Everything else is political pander.

Either we solve the largest Trade, Accounting, and Liability Deficit in human history, or no more America.

The US dollar is a nanosecond from losing its longstanding consistent source of global currency demand (the oil trade) And with it, its buying power.

the oil-rich states of the world have TRILLIONS (thats a million millions) more Dollars/Euros/Francs/Pounds/Dinars/Reals/Rubals than we do and don't care for American Imperialism.

(also pakistan misplaced almost 50 Kilos of enriched Uranium a few years ago, things like this are the real HLS problem)

We owe countries around the world more than $9,000,000,000,000 IN PAPER!!!! (GOV debt)

We have more than $46,000,000,000,000 in Paper Mortgages (roughly equivalent to the entire material wealth of the united states)

We have a $75,000,000,000,000 liability deficit in our Social Security program (all inward payments to be made by same group) SUBTRACTED BY (total lifetime payouts for all persons currently paying into and payed out of SS).

We owe more money than we have.

We owe more than we will EVER have.

So vote with our eminent failure in mind. (and don't forget to run up some credit card debt)

if i lived in the states and she got any where near Washington then i would seriously move to Switzerland

Ok regarding being a mayor and a governer, at least she has executive branch experience. In other words she has actually run something. True Obama has been part of legislative body that is certainly partially responsible for what happens in this country but so are 99 other Senators, most of whom have far more experience doing that than he does. Plus while she has been running that state, she has had the highest approval rating of any governer (anywhere from 80-90% which is about 3-4 times higher than the Bush administration and about 8 times better than the senate). Which leads me to believe she is certainly doing something right. Another advantage to being a governer is that while you are in charge of and running a state, you are also removed (very far in the case of Alaska) from Washington D.C. so all of the political games and bribery are far less likely to effect her. Also, trying to make the case that being a governer makes you unqualifed to lead this country is really pretty dumb. Lets just look at who we have elected to lead this country in the past who was only a governer beforehand:

Thomas Jefferson, Governor of Virginia, 1779-81

James Monroe, Governor of Virginia, 1799-1802

Andrew Jackson, Governor of the Florida Territory, 1821

Martin Van Buren, Governor of New York, 1829

William Henry Harrison, Territorial Governor of Indiana, 1801-13

John Tyler, Governor of Virginia, 1825-26

James Knox Polk, Governor of Tennessee, 1839-41

Andrew Johnson, Governor of Tennessee, 1853-57, Military Governor of Tennessee, 1862-65

Rutherford Birchard Hayes, Governor of Ohio, 1868-72, Governor of Ohio, 1876-77

Grover Cleveland, Governor of New York, 1883-85

William McKinley, Governor of Ohio, 1892-96

Theodore Roosevelt, Governor of New York, 1898-1900

William Howard Taft, Governor of the Philippines, 1901-04

Woodrow Wilson, Governor of New Jersey, 1911-13

Calvin Coolidge, Governor of Massachusetts, 1919-20

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Governor of New York, 1929-33

James Earl Carter, Jr., Governor of Georgia, 1971-75

Ronald Wilson Reagan, Governor of California, 1967-75

William Jefferson Clinton, Governor of Arkansas, 1978-80, 1982-92

George Walker Bush, Governor of Texas, 1995-2000

Regarding Obama knowing what he is talking about, listen a little closer. He is good, very good in fact, at making himself sound intelligent on the issues, but when you try to get any real substance out of what he is saying or figure out how he is going to do the things that he says he is going to do, you will realize he's really just trying to say things that will get him elected and doesn't really know how to fix the problems at hand.

And if you think Palin sounds like she either has no clue what she is talking about or has it all prepared beforehand, have you ever heard Obama speak when he doesn't have a teleprompter in front of him? He isn't quite as eloquent as you may have been led to believe.

Finally on a slightly different topic, why are we discussing Obama vs. Palin anyways? Where is ol' Joe to do battle with her? Is he busy telling more of his "old pals" to stand up for everyone despite them being paraplegics in a wheelchair? Really though, I love how concerned Obama and the left are with Palin, it is really making McCain's job a lot easier.

Mccain has proven his selflessness, for the good of fellow soldiers and for the US...so that should it your definition of honorable.

and what would you have them do!?!?!?!?

restarting unfavorable relations with russia is almost the WORST idea ANY politician could have.

Russia is a very strange country, we dont actually know how much money they have, because about 1/2 of their economy is Illicit (controlled by crime syndicates of ex-KGB / FSB)

The Russian criminal syndicates are linked to the political leadership (PUTIN), as its really more an association of Russian (soviet) intelligence officers who have been profiting from the downfall of their former empire, than a group of gangsters.

These groups are HEAVILY involved in North American Organized Crime, and could undermine our economy faster than you can blink (they are already implicated in liquor-smuggling tax theft in the HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS) ['windex' grain alcohol]

Russia is a country run by a well-funded intelligence service, they have trillions of dollars in THEIR BANKS (we have NO money, only debt/credit)

Because of the nature of Russian Leadership, its hard to actually say how powerful they are, but they could very well have greater Economic and Military power than the USA.

so dont talk shit.

but smart hilary supporters wont fall for it because she stands for NOTHING hilary does. and she couldnt give two shits about womens health

flash_video_placeholder.png

so because russia is once again the big bad wolf, we have to act afraid?

they straight up captured US military vehicles and equipment. i would consider that an act of aggression (perhaps even war?).

maybe mccain could use his military training to come up with a course of action

maybe obama could use his 143 days of senate experience to organize a solution

id like to see what each presidential candidate offers as a solution

I wasnt saying McCain isnt honorable, I just pointed out that military service doesnt give you an automatic 'honorable person' award.

who gives a shit, that is not a credential for presidency, that is an unlucky fucking soldier. Who cares if the fag was a POW when it come to politics. This countries ignorance amazes me

You're an idiot, that's not the point. When you're deciding on who to vote you look at the person's character and what they've done in their life. Sacrificing years of one's life to serve your country was honorable on the part of McCain and shows his character. Before he was captured he had the option to go back home, but he decided to stay and continue fighting, ending up as a POW due to his choice to continue serving.

Obama couldn't even stand up for his half-wit pastor.

This thread is pretty ridiculous even for newschoolers. I have pretty much tried to stay away from the political threads on here because face it, most of you don't know what the fuck you are talking about and manage to seam like an absolute fool even with the animosity of the internet. That goes for both side of the debate.

The real problem I have with it is that there is information out there. Its not hard to see right through these political games.

Any way here is my two cents. Sarah Palin is a joke. A clever well timed joke by the republican party. All of a sudden someone so inept so moronic so blindly opinionated comes along and takes all the pressure off of Mccain. And for some reason this country thinks that a person who is a fucking idiot is endearing and "good home town person" look at Bush. I hope most people see through this

This is so silly I don't know why im doing this the misinformation just started getting to me. Please try to look a little bit more closely into politics before you start throwing up all over your keyboard.

We have just endured 8 years of the most destructive presidency of recent time. Please try to think for yourself for this next election. And also think about the fact that we have to live in this "world" not just country. The hate for bush throughout the world is stifling. The world hates us for electing that man TWICE. 200,000 people saw Obama speak in Germany. That kind of initial genuine like is hard to come by. And the world sees Mccain as more bush. Rightfully so? Think about what you are saying before you are rude and condescending to others.

you dont get it...

the USA is no longer in the position to do anything about it, and that is why Russia poked us (to see if they could get away with it)

McCain and his military training might belligerently start a second Cold War.

Obama and his limited experience might actually say "hey we're sorry, we are not really in a position to interfere with your military disputes"

if we try and 'show them a lesson' or whatever, WE WILL GET OUR ASSES HANDED TO US

We're not badasses, we're broke.

And that has nothing do with any of the events that have happened during his presidency, of course, thank you for you wisdom. Clinton really had to deal with the worst terrorist attack in history, as well as the constant threat of islamic fundamentalism.

What the fuck do I care what the Europeans think? They elect their own fair share of incompetent idiots. And the only reason they can ever come up with for hating Bush is "Iraq! American imperialism!" as if they have any authority whatsoever on the issue. I remember being in Paris and some bitch sees we're American and starts ranting to her husband about how much she hates Americans in French, constantly throwing in the words Bush and Iraq. Then my mom turns to her and tells her to shut the hell up in fluent French. One of the most shocked looks I've ever seen came over this bitch's face.
