Sarah Burke just passed away.

ski in peace sarah, the skiing community will miss you dearly, shred some powder with CR and shane for us.

Oh god. I'm still in shock. Me and my girl (who rides) are in total shock. Even my family who heard about it thru the news are shocked.

SIP sarah. Shred those lines with CR and Shane. We will ALWAYS remember you!

Whoever put that post in /sp/ was just asking for trouble, hate and morbid puns. I understand why, not necessarily a wise move.

this is awful, i totally expected her to pull through :( sip/rip, she did a good thing with the organ donation deal though. you will be missed!

just posted RIP Sarah Burke on my twitter and caused a shit storm because i guess there is another sarah burke living in my area... oops

Holy cow, so shitty, hopefully no more of these this year. My heart just dropped so many vibes

I'm not embarassed to say I am sitting at my desk crying a little bit.

I feel like we all lost a big sister, a a female pioneer in a sport dominated by guys.

Sarah, you have left such a big impact on us. Your life was like the first tracks made in fresh pow on a sunny morning after a storm. You brought me to the hill and glued me to the tv whenever you were shredding.

Wherever you are, you are in a better place. Say hi to Shane, CR and Hoot for all of us.

Ski in peace.

Damn this is ridiculously sad. I heard the news a little bit earlier today. RIP, and love to Rory and the rest of the fam

I still cant believe this happened... Its just so upsetting for such a tight knit community to see one our fellow riders pass away. At least she died doing what we all enjoy doing best, and I know that I for one shall ride for her this season. S.I.P Sarah, you were a legend to many, and even after this you shall continue to influence so many future and present people.

such a sad day... found this out and was super sad... the news just kinda came out of nowhere made me sad...

Ski in Peace Sarah... people will miss your skiing everywhere...

Dont even know what to say. Its too sad to see someone who had so much of life to live and had already lived so well. She changed the entire sport for women. At the Olympics every rider should rock something to help pay respect and remember her for the amazing woman she was.

I didn't even know Sarah the best, just occasionally through some TV edit watching. But I just cried watching that. Whenever someone dies in our sport it hurts, regardless of who it is or how well you known them. Then you watch a video like that, or a video of Shane, Arne or CR you just can't believe they are gone, you see how much they did with their life and who they influence and things they accomplished, and you think, how can they really be gone, they can't be, but you know they are.

I've said it a few times and I say it again and again

SIP Sarah, you will be missed, and you will be remember not only in the videos, pictures, contests wins and accomplishments, but in our hearts through everything you have done, and through all you have touched.
