RUSH-greatest band ever

I will have to say rush is the greatest band ever. I just saw them last night on the first stop on the snakes and arrows tour and they are so fucking amazing. Although I wish they had played a lot more of their old songs like 2112, xanadu, bastille day, La Villa Strangiato, cygnus x-1, their new album is really really good, and they played a bunch of those songs. Go out and get the new album snakes and arrows, and get some tickets for the tour thats running this summer. Neil pearts drum solo was amazing as expected too.

there good, and neil pert might be the best drummer ever, but best band? i dont think so. still great tho for sure

Best. Band. Ever.

I'm seeing Rush in concert on June 27th.

So is the concert playlist almost entirely songs from "Snakes & Arrows" or do they still play a few older songs? Also, about how many songs should we expect to hear that night?

Rush is so far down the list of greatest bands ever. This thread makes me sick.

rush rocks. There was a Geddy Lee interview on CBC last night, and I actually saw him on Blackcomb back in march. Can't miss that flat nose of his. Roll the Bones is a wicked album.

wow, i can't believe those words are in the same sentence; "Rush, greatest band ever." You are undermining so many other deserving bands, personally geddy lee sounds like a woman...enough said

i think the only person who could give neil pert a run for his money is John Bohnam (sp) the drummer in Led Zep.

They play a lot of stuff from snakes and arrows. Go ahead and get that album. It's amazing, actually. The only bad part about playing a lot of the new stuff is that they dont play as much of the old stuff. Someone said it was the first time since 97 that they didnt play anything from 2112. They didn't play xanadu, bastille day, cygnus x-1, and a lot of their popular songs, which was dissapointing though. They played from 3.5 hours with an intermission. Really sick concert. It would be really hard to hear all of them.

Here's the set list

That's a shame they don't play anything from "2112," that's among my favorite albums. However, that still appears to be a fairly hefty playlist. I'm pumped.

Ricky: What the fuck bubbles...you don`t want to see Rush

Bubbles: Yes boys i wanna see Rush...

i hav a bunch of friends that would def agree wit u, me personally i think they r very good, limelight, YYZ, tom sawyer def r amazing songs but theres only so much rush i can listen to..... and they also have the best drummer ever to walk this earth

seeing them on my birthday, cannot wait. those of you who don't even acknowledge rush as being extremely decent don't know much.

the drummer in my dad's band is 40 something, lives in his parents basement and it's covered in Rush posters. I'm not talking 10 posters, I'm talking billions (you get the point). His license plate is YYZ and he just bought Rush tix for Las Vegas without realizing he had two gigs that day/night. We live in VT, so it's not exactly a day trip to Vegas either.

The man is hilarious.

i agree tool is a kickass band, but how could you even put rush and tool in the same top 5?? that is beyond fucked up. rush is terrible

you've got to be kidding me. What have you heard from Rush, seriously. Tom Sawyer, Limelight and YYZ are not their only songs, and they are actually good.

BOLLACKS,

OASIS ARE THE SHIT, IN TERMS OF BEING THE BEST BAND EVER ONLY IN MY OPINION, BEATLES ARE HIGH UP THERE ASWELL, NEVER EVEN HEARD OF RUSH

No my friend, while rush is good, they melt into oblivion when copmared to the greatest band ever. LET THE LED OUT.

I don't see Rush on here. Maybe they should have interviewed more Canadians.
