13822526:angrygramps said:Where do i start.....You act like I'm fucking supporting this dickbag company. Dude fuck that. even thought i was one of the lucky few who got a set they still owe me the second set of skis I ordered, and they fucked over many of my friends too so no need to preach to me. I know the extent of the season ruining screw job that is Revision skis. I don't support them AT ALL.
To you the situation of the athlete doesn't matter because you are not the damn athlete and its fucking easy for us on newschoolers to sit at a computer and armchair quarterback peoples lives and choices. same shit happened when people thought Jonah was ditching RMU for atomic. he got lots of hate for that and is one of the nicest people on skis, all because some kid on a computer thought he was abandoning the "core"....he was literally borrowing the skis because his broke...no sponsor input at all. If you don't know the situation then you don't know what factors are involved in their choice. Just like if a person stays with a cheating, abusive partner (which happens all the time unfortunately in those situations). yes that partner is a complete shitbag asshole and theoretically they shouldn't stay but they do for a plethora of reasons that are impossible to understand unless you are the one making that choice. You (we) don't know the exact situation and how you would act so until you do try to see it from a different point of view. not saying they are right to still be repping, god knows I wouldn't be but who the fuck are we to pass character judgements on people for a fucking instagram post. EVERYTHING depends on situation....just ask spriggs.
Logan is fucking legit for doing that. he had the means (the situation) to hook kids up and he did. If i had some usable sticks laying around this season they would have gone to one of my buddies who got fucked over by Revision, and I'm sure that pretty much everybody on this site would do something similar given the option in that situation.
people make choices based on what they think is best from their viewpoint. it is the difference in viewpoints that causes disagreement.
look up some of the shit that goes down in skateboarding some time....the sponsor drama and business strong-arming that went down when world industries was still under rocco was strait up demonic. they stiffed so many skate shops so many times. do you think rodney mullen supported that? no way...but did he still ride for and co-own world and take the checks? you betcha. does he still deserve respect? undoubtedly. He would probably call that entire side of world industries a mistake but at the time him supporting them allowed the entire company to take off and change an entire industry for the better. not saying that is what is happening here but just food for thought.
PS I know nobody is making that kind of money off Revision....but I also don't make that kind of money off one restaurant job. but I do have have two jobs that both contribute income to my rent and expenses. If I lost either job I wouldn't be able to pay for rent making them both equally important even though neither makes me that much money ya dig?
moral of the story is that you and I probably agree on more things than we disagree on but we'll never see eye to eye because this is an internet pissing match over a slight difference in opinion about some people neither of us really know that well. So yea I guess thats my .02
13822489:B.Gillis said:I don't know the situation of any athlete but to me that doesn't matter. If you continue to represent a company that has ripped off hundreds of people who look to you as an ambassador of said company then that pretty much says to me that you stand by the actions of the company. You continue to produce edits for the company and tag them on your IG posts while the kids who didn't get their shit sit at home and lick their wounds. Fuck that. Freeskiing is a niche inside of a niche and in my opinion each one of these guys should be considered and ambassador of the community and the sport long before they're considered an ambassador for a company. And that goes for all of us too.
PS - I highly fuckin doubt any of these guys were making enough to pay rent let alone feed themselves for an entire season.
13822390:B.Gillis said:This thread really pisses me off and idek anyone personally that's been fucked over. I can say that I have lost alot of respect for those Revision team riders that are still repping revision all over their social media pages

Coincidentally, skis.com is a Michigan company.

13824830:VanMelle said:I HIGHLY doubt she has any additional info, when all the skiers they support have ZERO contact or information.
I was one of the few who had a direct relationship with Bill (not tied to revision) and have ZERO additional information. He won't respond to any of my texts or emails either.
He's a really good dude who I've known for over 5 years, and one that I never thought would do anything like this which is why is so disheartening to not know the explanation of it all. I was waiting for him to come out and say "hey we messed up big time and we know it, we'll refund everyone their money" or something like that. Unfortunately we may never know the real story behind all of this.

13825163:a_burger said:I contacted them, and their ski buyer responded saying that they got the skis from a 3rd party liquidator and typically this means the "brand had not paid the production and/or warehousing bills for [the skis], but we never know the exact circumstance"
So it sounds like they never paid the manufacturer to begin with.
13825168:iggyskier said:The one thing I will add, as a ski manufacture, is that we never ship skis overseas if payment has not been made in full. I highly doubt the factory in China would ship the skis to the US without payment. Given the custom documents that are available online, you can see the info for the ski shipment that came over in Feb and the receiving company was Revision, so I doubt that would be the case if it was a 3rd party liquidator.
13825170:Sharko said:So are you thinking Bill sold all the remaining stock to skis.com to get back some cash?

13825172:iggyskier said:Honestly, most of what I could add here would be either rumor or conjecture and I don't feel that is appropriate. I am only comfortable sharing what I know for sure, which is from seeing a custom document for a sizeable shipment of skis around mid-February. I don't know anything else about Revision or what happened to those skis once they got into the US, except that it appears about 50% of them ended up for sale at Skis.com, based upon the quantities Skis.com is listing and the details of the custom document.
Besides that, your guess is as good as mine.

13825458:angrygramps said:Thanks for your helpful insight. Care to explain?
13825459:TheClap. said:How to start a company possibly, aka just go to a trade show VS. Actually build a company and actually sell shit just to fuck people over a few years later
13825462:angrygramps said:did you totally miss the part about how hard it is to work with these overseas factories and get a decent product? That directly relates. Also revision likely started exactly like that-a guy went to a trade show thinking "how hard can it be?" And was too thick to to know that the answer is pretty damn hard
13825463:TheClap. said:Yes I did watch the whole thing and yes it not relate. Reread the thread and how revision started making skis, they were sketchy from the beginning
13825464:angrygramps said:Dude I fucking understand the situation. In fact I still havnt gotten a set that I ordered and likely never will. I also have a set of the first years model so I'd say I'm pretty well aware of the company history. I can see the thought process now " let me invest 4 years of my life, lie to friends and family and customers, make skis, find investors, make sure I can never work in the ski industry again, and assemble a huge team, just to scam what is likely less than 100k in sales from the least profitable and smallest part of skiing"
He screwed us and needs to answer for it but there are easier ways to full on scam people out of a lot more money.
