Actually people go to other countries for operations all the time. my uncle spends his time in the US and Thailand and gets all medical procedures in Thailand because the same quality of care is more affordable overseas than it is here. my godfather went to Mexico to get stones removed from his gallbladder because he can afford incredible care there that costs less than mediocre care here.

Tell that to the people voting against gay rights right now. You know, in 45 states where you can't get married, the 14 states where having sex is punishable by jailtime, and the large number of churches that support executions, and the fact that hate crime legislation was only passed 2 months ago, I'd say we're moving forward.

i dont think ive ever seen him play the victim though. every time hes brought up his gayness, its because hes upset that the guy who just won is straight up against his lifestyle. which is understandable, regardless of where you stand on gay marriage.

What everyone is forgetting is that we live in a country where citizens have certain entitlements. If you were born on american soil, you deserve to have things handed to you. No one has to work for anything anymore.

Sure, it may seem as if I bring it up all the time, but that's because I do end up posting 9-10 times per political thread, which only makes it SEEM frequent. I come in blasts. - lol.

I know it's just a misunderstanding, but you have to agree that this is somewhat relevant to my case at this point in time - Prop 8 is under trial (yet again), a republican senator that skews the balance is just elected (one of his platforms is pro-tradition), and we're having a discussion with Panda about threesomes with his girlfriend. It's a TRIPLE WHAMMY!!!!!!

I had no idea Charmander was bisexual, I always thought he was a hard core bible thumper conservative.

The funniest thing about the "Obama Health Care" is that Obama has had very little to do with the health care plan. He has always mediated between his own party and included Republicans. However the Republicans felt marginalized because they were a super minority. So, smartly, they decided that they would just stay out of the debate. For them participating constructively was a lose lose situation. So they just decided to key in on a few core conservative values that are in the bill, and we all can agree were taken so far out of context even ORilley thought it was foolish, and try to kill the bill. Knowing full well that nothing that they did mattered. So they took the easy route and sat back and waited for the bill to get passed so they could make every attempt in 2012 to say the bill was a failure to get more republicans in.

I blame this whole thing on the democrats, if they were not fucking retarded they would have gotten a bill together, WITH A FUCKING PUBLIC OPTION, months ago and this whole situation would have been over. But they are fucking stupid and squabbled and acted like children. Some even tried to use their votes to get special privileges for their state. A move that I consider treason, fucking ass holes.

So in the end we are the real losers. No matter what statistics you look at we have the worst health care system per dollar in the world. In the world! There is absolutely no reason why anyone in the richest country in the world should not have premier health care and education. People have no problem supporting the troops. You know what that means, (I support the troops... When they are in combat and killing people on my behalf, if they get killed, maimed, or psychologically damaged I will pay for their treatment... for 1 year then they are on their own.) It's absolutely sick to me that there are working, efficient, comprehensive health care programs all over the western world, and because Americans are so fucking stupid, scared, and selfish we have millions of people die every day because of their lack of health care. 45,000 people a year!!! fucking sick.

The best is a quote from one of the tea party people "Keep your dirty government hands off of my medicare..." I hate what this country has become.
 
The fact that they were given the privileges is unconstitutional. It is in the Bill of Rights, can't remember which amendment, but it says essentially that if the US government favors one state over another that it is against the constitution and illegal. Dems in the last like 3 month have been using the constitution as toilet paper like the Republicans did during the Patriot Act.

I dont know about you, but I was born into a low income family, my dad and mom both didnt have degrees, yet my surgeon is/was the surgeon for all of the Twins baseball team

I didn't own a brand new set of skis, boots, outerwear, goggles, helmet, or anything outside of gloves or poles for the first 8 of the 11 years I have skied. And I got the Seths with Jesters I use now new because my dad ended up working at a local ski shop. I could of had new but my dad was all about buying used and not wasting money needlessly... there are ways to ski when you are in a low-income family.
 
if you can afford even used equipment, and lift tickets, and transportation to the mountain, you arent poor. or if you are, you clearly have some priority problems.
 
One thing I do notice in this list, whether it is of much importance or not, is that the United States also has over 300 million people, the next highest on the list being Japan with just being over 1/3 the population of the united states and no other country with a population over 100 million. Again I'm not sure of what effects this would have exactly, but I am sure it must have at least some effect.
 
Hitch-hiking is big to get to Baker. I have done it twice and you can get a ride usually.

I know a few guys who didn't start skiing or snowboarding until they were 16 and got their first jobs. Buy the shittiest equipment you can find, hitch hike up, and buy a ticket and hitch hike down.
 
that's a good point. We should just split the US up and let the states rule themselves... haha on second thought... Think how shitty the south would be with no federal government. Colorado would dominate.
