I'm just wondering for no reason which pro skiers are religious and which are not.

Not hating or anything just bored and wanted to know.

I know Jossi is very christian...

This is true. I didn't know about it until after the accident but apparently he went to the same church as my grandparents.

I think i saw joss and nick Goepper with cross stickers on their helmets.

Also chug seems like he attends church regularly.

It's a free country. You can believe in whatever the fuck you want. Whether or not other members of a religion think you are a member of their religion does not affect whether you actually are.

I love how every thread with even the slightest mention of a form of spirituality brings out theabortionator

Haile Selassie himself publicly condemned racism, so your actually wrong. When it started they were against the white people, but it did not last very long. so Stfu

being atheist is a religion. they believe in whatever it is atheists believe in. So unless you follow atheists and what not your not atheist your just nothing

my friends mom knew jamie peire and apparently he was super christian and jumpoing off of huge cliffs was something that made him feel he could connect with god just what she told me

I think his remark was meant to be seen as a generalisation and not fact. As everyone interprets religion their own way, and rightfully so.

Think he was referring to how the majority of strict Christians (in the U.S. at least) doubt the evolutionary theory and believe in Creationism instead.

Religion is dumb. Basically with every advance in science and technology religion becomes more and more outdated.

At one point it was useful for giving answers to the questions of life, now we know a lot of those things. We understand where the wind comes from, how rain develops, how mountains were formed, we don't need to believe in the easter bunny anymore.

Ok if thats what you think then fair enough but i just find it strange how people think that advances in science take away from "religion" I don't get how there connected.

religious but not an extremist. i believe in things, of which includes the possibility that there is more than we can explain. i can't find myself believing solely in science, although i do know mostly everything is explainable. the problem with science is that we limit our knowledge to what we can see, hear, touch.. so really, everything that exists is accounted for because we have senses? what if we all happened to be blind. then the "facts" about our world and what we know about the universe would be vastly different. so how can it be a fact if it's completely dependent on the way we perceive our environment based on how we happened to evolve? i'm sure fish "know" that the universe is water, too, with a little bit of open land that we humans decide to introduce them to once in a while..

bottom line, i think it's pretty short-sighted to rationalize all that exists by the system where "if you can't sense it, it isn't there." i'm not trying to say i know there is a god and atheists are wrong, but i will say that at the same time, i don't know there isn't one.

just have faith in something. faith in science, faith in yourself, faith that things will work out for the best in the long run, whatever. you don't have to be a bible-thumper to believe in something and uphold a set of morals and personal values that are meaningful to you.

Sometimes the main thing that makes me believe is standing on the top of a mountain then shreding a perfect pow line, that shit just didn't happen by a accident/coincidence, the snow, the mountains the wild life.

He just explained that. It's because much of religion was created super long ago and all the dumbfucks back then were all like "oh shit the sky is pissing" and has no idea why so they were all like "theres some douchebag making this happen" and made a god for all their answers so they wouldnt shit bricks when white stuff covered the cold ground and they could just be like "fuckin god did it man" then eventually they made skis and loved their god for that white shitty stuff and then we figured out the real answers for everything and now we dont need to be dumbass's and know science and shit like that fuckatory.

Nope.

Science is testing if something is true.

Religion is believing something is true without checking.

I feel like I'm talking to someone who would not listen/be open minded (ever) when I'm talking to chiristians.

Instead of reflecting/thinking about what I said to them, they just get angry for no reason.

You never really know it for a FACT, because there is no way to tell. However it is very probable that things are true, but thats why they are called theorys.
