Reasons why I hate my mountain.

Just going on a rant, the whole day at my home mountain I get constantly cut of by kids going off the sides of "jumps" also known as lips up to rails/boxes. These kids are flooding the park every second and cut everyone off making the ride through the park shitty as possible because you don't want to kill one of the kids, and have to go out of you way to skip the feature just for them to go off the side of the lip. Example: Watch the first 2 minutes

Notice at 1:57 the kid goes "are you hitting the jump?" (talking about the lip onto the rail)

I'm happy for more people to try and start up freeskiing but this is just out of hand

At first I thought you were the one skiing... ahaha But the main problem is cause your mountain has no transition point for beginners to get into the sport. At Timberline, we have a mini park which has only been getting smoother and better. It is just a series of 3-4 really small jumps 5-15ft. It's perfect for the kids that just like to hit the lips of rails and whatnot.

However I would dare not venture into those mini parks anymore, so much mayhem. Kids on the ground everywhere, bomb holes that are deeper than yo mommas cleavage. It is intense. You have to tranny find the very side of the landing to get anything smooth.

My proposition is that every terrain park makes a mini park that is just a series of about 10-50 lips "jumps" that have no rails or anything after it. That way gapers can cruise up in there and have a good time in the "park" also it will help them progress.

Yeah he have a "mini" park and the we also have a more experienced park. However it's so early in the season our big park isn't open yet. Even with the big park open the same things happen and families like bringing their kids down it because they say it has a perfect slope to practice their turns...

lol. like it did anything to begin with. it only worked when the park was at north. but your probably 12 and don't even remember that

hahah saw kids doing this the other day and i yelled at the park crew (people i knwo) for not yelling at the kids fucking up the lips theyd just built, thatd piss me off so much but i understand why thats not fair in the whole of things but why must your kids be retarded

You need to learn how to use punctuation better. I honestly can't figure out what you're trying to say.

It's not the kids fault, it's the fucking parents. If park crews can put up signs to warn us about the size of the features, they could at least have the decency to put ones next to them saying: "do not bring your children through this area unless they are experienced park riders". I feel like that would be enough to at least keep the majority of gapers out.

All day at Sugarloaf today, there were families with 8 year olds riding over the knuckles on the park jumps... It's one thing when it's a small lip to get on to a box, but a 40 foot table top? Really?

My favorite is when he kids ride over the boxes and get stuck, then they proceed to shuffle their way across. The one thing Midwest places do is have the smaller features on the opposite side of the mountain, away from the big parks

in a perfect world resorts have park passes, but in reality no one wants to hear earfuls from parents about how they have to take a little quiz to snow plow over knolls.

lol the worst is when the dad takes all the kids into the park just to ski a normal run. My friend was trying to hit this jump and this dad brings all these little kids and stops right on the landing. My friend doesn't see them tries to do a 540 and sees the kids and yells, "WHAT THE FUCK!" and crashes right next to a 4 year old kid. The Dad is FREAKING out yelling and swearing saying that my friend needs to look at the landing. Basically saying my friend is a "dumb ass" and nearly fights him. The ski patrol came over and saw the whole thing and, goes at it with the guy bringing his kids into the park and sitting at the landing. The patrol says, "You nearly killed one of those kids because of YOUR actions. You NEVER stop to rest on a landing like that where no one can see you from above." I'm pretty sure the dad got his pass taken because the ski patrol said that they are going to the lodge no where else and the patrol skied down with them haha.

I know OP and there are a lot more reasons to hate Bristol, the other day I was down with my brother and friend, whilst waiting for the only real jump on the mountain (mind you there are 40+ people waiting) fucking 10 skiers/snowboarders get in front of everyone, a 12 year old kid did a 3 over the jump and one of the boarders yelled "wow that was such a sick 3", because they weren't beginners ever or anything, right? No learning curve what-so-ever, they were doing dub backflips the first year they started snowboarding. There's also groups of skiers that do this as well, like why the fuck do you ski? To talk shit? No, you ski to fucking have fun. Respect the sport holy fuck. And This isn't only Bristol, it's basically every mountain.

Going from riding actual east coast to bristol this year blows...the park is boring at least you get pow on the daily thanks to the lake effect

Doesn't really mess up lips that much unless its a really warm day. or if the lips sucked to begin with.

Stop complaining. I remember a time when skiers weren't allowed in the snowboard park and tickets could be pulled for poaching. Jumps were stomped out in piles of snow and rails were made of rust and hepatitis.

What you have now, regardless of your complaints is worlds better than what used to be.

What I hate are the race coaches that bring there kids in the park, and ski on the landings and shit. And when you ask them to move you get threatened to have your pass pulled

At norquay one day there was kids literally climbing on the boxes then sliding down them. The park is swarmed by kids, and parents hitting "jumps" daily.... Then to top it off park crew just laps park all day instead of fixing lips

I fucking hate that. One of my good friends is exactly the same way, it's so annoying. All the time, "sick jacket douche, that would have been cool 5 years ago" "dope 50-50 haha" shit like that. And it's like bro, I remember taking you snowboarding the first time and the first two years you were just as shitty and looked just as gaperish.

well my mountain has every trail open and plenty of snow on their terrain park but has yet to put a feature in the park......they have had enough snow for at least two weeks now

my park isn't even bad. It has it's own lift, but the boardercross does attract a lot of goons to the park.

The most annoying reoccurring thing in my park is definitely kids with there parents present, riding up the lips to the XL's. Whenever it happens, the little kid almost gets destroyed.

I can't wait till I have a kid, i'll actually teach them some park etiquette.

That is the bottom of South and Bear peak at Creek in NJ at 8am. These lifts are supposed to be all park. But, theres the racing team bright and early. They were supposed to have the race at bear, but that peak didn't open in time. So of course the actual terrain park was full of races hitting lips and practicing turns. I almost saw a fight between a gaper and a dude in a yellow saga jacket. Shoutout to dude in yellow, I'm sure he was getting yelled out for freestyle in the park and probably an NSer. Oh yeah, this is first year without park passes at Creek and it is worse than even for gapers hanging out on landings.

The lip on that barrel tap is so shitty went to pop over it about a week ago caught my tips and just ate complete shit hahaha

Idk whose idea this was but it was probably the most least thought out decision ever. I'm OK with the park pass going, hell, I'm even OK with no park on bear. But to give it back to the racers?!? Oil and water. Its getting very very very bad. I've ruined 3 kids this week alone. I've stopped caring. Its like pulling bugs off the windshield at this point
