Reason For Gangster Skiing!

I think that the main point of all this baggy gangster stuff is that, as a fact, in baggier cloths you move easier in the air. ( Read that in a magazine, so It must be true ) I mean I know there is a limit to this, but a tall tee and some xxl pants never killed anyone!

And also (Not to be racist), but skiing has to be the whitest sport ever...so it's the one place we can be safe acting black!

But yea, Discuss!

I beg to differ, I think the reason for gangster skiing is clearly the obvious and direct link between poverty stricken inter-urban living and upper-class suburban whiteness. Real gangsters are all thugged out to express their dissatisfaction with the inequalities of society at large, while us white "gangster skiers" merely emulate ganster style cause it's wicked cool and we're troubled with the full extent of our whiteness.
 
mmm I'd say the whole flashy gangstarrr expensive big clothes thing started out as a look how well I've done statement.

more of a claim and less of a deep statement than you're making it out to be.
 
I think tight pants are more comfortable and easier to move in because they're not always down around your waist, but that's not why I wear tight pants.  Stop trying to justify the way you dress with practicality.  If we wanted functional clothing, we would all wear medium sized Arc'teryx shit.  But we don't want clothing that will keep us comfortable, warm, and dry--we want to look cool.  
 
I wear baggy clothing. I have xxl 3.5 puffies. im only 6 feet talll, 170. but it looks fine. i also have some hh pants that are xl. I look like a goon in tight pants, isaid it. a Goon

but honestly, i think it has come from 2 things.

1. Snowboarding

2. We dont want to be in spyder shit, we want to be "different" from racers/gapers

kids like to feel tough, and what safer place to do it? aside from the racial thing, can you imagine someone actually starting a fight on a ski hill? everyones too busy having fun. so rich whiteboys get to act all hard and flash gang signs at the camera for edits and noone will ever bother to call them on it

I wasn't really referring to the expense of clothes as their very expense if excessive by definition would make them not gangsta because what's more gangsta than ghetto? That being said while I was definitely making a playful jab at gangsta style my statement was far less deep than it was heavily laced with sarcasm.
 
i don't really have a problem with gangster skiing, because for the most part, i think it looks steezy myself. but when i was skiing yesterday, i saw this kid in a leather jacket, and baggy ass JEANS. this just took it to a whole new extent. it just looked rediculous.

I solve this dilema by not using the word "Gangster". Why? Because it's fucking retarded. I am not a gangster. I just have a big jacket.
 
baggy pants and jackets make your style soo much better just for the fact that it hides little movements, making you look a lot smoother.
 
super baggy gangster stuff is actually pretty dysfunctional, its pretty untrue to say it makes movement easier. imagine popping up onto an urban rail with your xxxxl pants around your knees, then imagine doing it in a racer suit.

but we imitate the pros so...thats why i think we do it (not saying i personally do). and racer stuff looks gay.
 
The whole "because its practical" thing is really fucking annoying.

It's ok to say "I dress this way because I think it looks fucking rad." and really, how many "gangsters" do you see wearing lime green pants, or bright blue bibs.

hell yeah wear big clothes if you want, ride with no poles if you want. someone is bound to get their panties in a knot about at least one of the two but fuck them they dont know what skiing is about

i think the real reason is because,no one else on a mountain wears baggy clothes,other than jibbers.its what sets us aprt from evryone else and screams"freestlye".

ya know it just sets us apart.
 
there is the occasional gaper in baggy clothes and the occasional guy who rips the park in tighter fitting outwerwar
 
I think a baggy jacket looks cool, baggy pants look cool... a big T shirt... uh not really my style but if you wanna wear it, do it. what I don't really understand is flashing gang symbols... and acting like you are toting a nine and gonna bust a cap in some gapers ass... I think some people take it a lil far,

but as long as your having a good time and throwin down... do what you want... just as long as your skiing and not bustin caps and robin seven elevens.
 
it's funny because no one in skiing even dresses gangster, everyone dresses like they are in the nasa space development academy or they are gundam wing warriors with a mission to go to mars at mach over9000.

you wanna dress gangster? put on a fuckin bloods jacket and rep a knife in your belt.
 
we are just trying to show that skiing has changed from what it once was

we no longer wear the brightest neon half zip jackets we can find at walmart

its a style of clothing not a way of life so dont flip a shit ppl

plus idk how ganster you can be if your paying 300 bucks for pants or a jacket

i completely agree with this because in NYC i cant really act gangsta on the streets cause i might get hurt, but on the mountain no one is black basically so i dont have a problem with itand i feel more comfortable.
 
fail. you dont know what youre talking about. having a dissatisfaction for society's inequalities doesnt mean that someone is going to run to the nearest footlocker and tell everyone to fuck off while they throw on a brand new 3xl tee.
