Real ski 2021

Guessing they allowed park / bc shots as it’s been a tough year for travel so there needed to be some flexibility in case people couldn’t access cities getting dumped on?

that being said, how on earth can you judge thalls triple backy against ahall / hackels rail tricks?? It’s hard enough judging somebody who goes massive vs tech in the streets, let alone when it’s a whole different setting altogether

Judges got an easy job this year so they better not fuck it up

Also keep it street specific there’s way less creativity on a bc jump

My ranking solely based on how much I enjoyed watching each one.

1) Hackel

2) AHall

3) Ferdi

4) Taylor

5) THall

5) Lupe

Not really, their goal was to have more of a mass appeal with all-around skiing

Ya man Taylor’s stall to switch on a 2ft high quarter was craaaazy.

Seriously tho I feel like I’ve seen her ski way better then what was in her edit. Really like her as a skier but her clips were a little disappointing.

Still had more fun watching her part than the others- sorry I guess.

Taylors tricks and spots were small but her edit gave me skateboard vibes which was rad and they were all spots that I would wanna go out and hit. Overall vibes were very fun and good.

not gonna dog on the other edits anymore but this year definitely felt like a step back overall.

real question is did y’all see P-bones zoot street part? NOW that’s what I call a good street seg ?

nobody gonna bring up Ahacks dub 7 to pb shmear over the guardrail? though that was on of the most fucked shots of the contetst

Still think ahall takes the cake, hammers on hammers per usual but hackel deserves a close second and the cinematography was out of this world.

Obviously taylor doesnt have the trick bag to take top 3 but love what it means to skiing and hope she gets a good fan favorite turnout - but I think its all Tanner regardless of his predominately BC edit due to his following and years in the game

A HALL

HACKEL

TANNER

TAYLOR

LUPE

FERDIE

based on what I heard 25% is in film making editing, Taylor could easily get 3rd because of that. Ferdies edit was dog shit as far as quality. hackels was simply a masterpiece with editing and skiing combined and A Hall just has the most nuts tricks with well rounded quality all around. I feel like they will give third to tanner based on film making alone. Its a bummer because if Taylor didnt get injured she would've podium. Lupes edit last year he put out was better and way to much going on in ferds to wanna watch again.

Upvote for ahack I’ve never heard that before but I like it

Hackel's edit felt like watching a movie. Incredible cinematography and editing. It just felt so polished. Between him and A hall for me, who had so many insane tricks.

1.Ahall

2.Ferdi

3.Hackel (could be 2 if filming is a bigger factor, so well shot and edited)

4. Lupe

5. Thall

6. Taylor

Upon first watch thalls was my least favorite. I feel like I've seen him do multiple backups so often its lost its magic. Plus he didn't look comfortable at his street spots.

1st- Taylor: liked her spot selection a lot

2nd- Tanner: dudes old af, still baller part

participation medals- the rest of them: lotta played out spots and they weren’t memorable edits to me at all.

Are u the guy that reffed big air? ?

Hackel's edit was absolute art. My fav hands down.

AHall threw down, and I know it's petty buttttttttt the music didn't do it for me. Woulda been so much better with a banger. Instead we got what I'd imagine my aunt listens to on the way to brunch.

Alex hackel had the best xgames edit hands down. It wasn't just a real ski segment, it was an artistic masterpiece. The entire package. Everything down from the filming style and angle to spot selection was genius. This shit has gotten too fancy. I didn't just came, I arrived.

Damn G you’re out here fr watching big air events?

anyone could win real street this year. All I’m sayin is Taylor and tanners parts were my favorite because they stood out from the others.

like bro Ferdi had a park jump clip in his seg :/ A-hall would win if I had to bet on it- and his whole part was actually... in the street. Still didn’t enjoy watching it as much as Taylor’s part tho.

they should make it clear what the rules were with backcountry.

I second this. I recall some back country ish shots in years past but not like this year. One that comes to mind was Antti Ollila skiing some deep pow and doing tricks off a bridge or something I cant remember entirely. I liked this in that it kind of blended both urban and back country but this year we definitely saw some full on back country builds such as tanner and alex hall

Did you not see a hall's ender?

I think Ahalls was the best until the backcountry shots, it totally ruined the vibe. Pet peeve when street clips have other shots. Hackle for the win

My favorites:

1. Lupe

2. Ferdi

3. A Hall

Who I think will win:

1. A Hall

2. Hackel

3. Tanner

I have no idea why Ferdi put in a park jump especially for the trick he did. He could have done the same thing on a backcountry jump or if he really needed a park jump he could have done something bigger. Basically asking to lose points with the judges

Tanner Hall with the most Tanner Hall video ever. Cali P, "One Love" and some double/triple backflips. Only thing missing was a cork 9 off a wall as he's always had one in his parts for the last 12 years.

Bro if Taylor gets bronze fuck it throw me in the god damn Xgames.

I feel like in a way that’s more disappointing, it means they changed up their only street edit based contest just cause. Like I understand if it was because of covid but if it’s just because they want to appeal to more people but cheapen a very good event that’s pretty disheartening.

Keep in mind Taylor got injured filming as well.

So did Zahner who was in her crew last year and he was a month late to start filming but look at the difference in quality. Imo the editing wasn’t nearly as good as what Gavin usually does and the skiing was clearly not up to par with the competition. I hate being that guy, but multiple times in this thread it’s been mentioned that the bronze might be going to Taylor and Gavin which to me is just outrageous regardless of injury.

If you're judging each individually then yeah. That would be ridiculous but she goes above Ferdi in my book since hitting a park jump in real ski might be the most disrespectful thing I've ever heard of
