Just because I have a phone doesn’t mean I’m always reachable, and I really don’t need tot all to her 4 times a day when literally nothing is going on. And if i try to tell her I’ll talk to her twice a week I’m belittled and she yelled at. I love my mom but man I am overwhelmed with the constant communication.

14576102:profa_212 said:I mean yeah that is probably the case if you are looking at any job above a high schoolers ability. Which is pretty much everything.
Ive never heard of highschoolers having internships, and I would never consider thinking of giving a high school kid an internship at all. I could barely handle the stupidity of college students and masters students as my interns. 0% chance I am letting a highschooler touch anything with any shred of importance. Not to mention I am absolutely not going to deal with an employee only being available from 330-5 every day.
Highschoolers are qualified for nothing. Just get a normal high school job that develops skills youll use in the long run like waiting tables or working in a ski shop.

Def things are more competitive in cities but maybe check out some of the restaurants around you. Can be pt or ft, easy enough to switch between places, and you can learn some skills like cooking or bartending eventually that can be pretty useful in the back pocket.
I guess it really depends what you want to do. Could even try and get into construction stuff. Can stack some $$$ in the summer and be chillin in the winter.
Def hard when you can't find stuff but keep applying. If you're skipping out on some jobs because you don't want to make a career out of it maybe go for one of those.
It doesn't have to be permanent but getting some $$ coming in is always nice. Work experience and a good reference go a long way.
Also try not to burn any bridges even if a place kind of sucks. Shit happens but if you can get a good reference from your previous employers that helps a lot for getting jobs.
Idk if it applies to everyone, but most cities have some kind of programs to help people find jobs. Might just be more if people lose their job and need help finding work, but could give you some prospects and sometimes those programs have more pull to getting a job.
Best of luck though man! Just remember not every job needs to be something you want to do forever. If all you can find is a job that isn't the best it's not bad to do it while pursuing the jobs you want more.
Def look into what employment programs your city has.

14576536:TOAST. said:went through that a few years ago it sucks. How old is dog?
Mine was 10 when she tore her first, got that one fixed and then tore the other a year later. Her first surgery got infected too so that was also not cool. We didn't get the 2nd fixed. Now she walks with mostly her front legs. We didn't do stretches and exercises to force her to strengthen her back legs back up as much as we should have besides walks. If you got any questions I can go into more detail with my experience, vets are hard to talk to cuz they make you feel like shit all the time, we thankfully found a place that was decent.
14576543:muffMan. said:She was my backcountry buddy, hiking, and everything dog, now she might not be able to do any of that. It blows man
Sad thing is she’s not even 3, was some freak thing where she fell down the stairs or something, didn’t even see it happen.
im praying it’s not that, heard two different things from other vets, but waiting on a final ortho visit. She walks fine, but the first day she whined up and down stairs/couches. praying it’s just a strain or mild tear at the most.
14576550:TOAST. said:Even if it is the acl if you focus on her recovery and stretches you should be able to get her back to 90%. That's what the vet told me at least.
My dog was already slowing down when she did it so that didn't help trying to get her to use her weak leg. Neighbor has a young dog with a torn acl and you'd never know it.
