Rant About Whatever

I've honestly never understood the hate for California... Yeah there are some rich pricks from the city that go up to ski or visit Yellowstone, but you're next to a world class resort you'll get that anywhere.

Then outside the city isn't that much different from Montana, yeah it's a little more dry, but there's still a shit ton of ranches and farms. Also, the people there have just as big of trucks and are just as "cowboy" as you are. It really rubs me the wrong way sometimes.

It is really just the metropolis's that give California the bad rep. I think its the stereotypical "we are more socially advanced" mindset that a few people have, my aunts included, that rub people the wrong way.

I hate skiing with lazy people that do things at their own, measly slow pace. Its cool im shresding with my sister today but we could easily be at the resort by now had she not been a total princess and slept til 8:30

That's how it was when I stayed with the boyfriend and his dad for my spring break. I like to get to the mountain by 7:30 so I can sit somewhere, eat my yogurt and banana and leisurely get my shit on and make it for first tracks. They rarely got out of bed before 10:30 and it was one of those things that just rubbed me the wrong way. We would get to the mountain at around noon and the park would be shit, trails would be skied off, and the lines would be massive. I wasn't in the position to bitch about it because he would buy me beer and dabs and he made the best food. I just appreciate a good day of riding more than I appreciate a day of sleeping and getting fucked up with 30 something year olds that think they're still in college.

Get over your superiorty comex montAna, because you're not dull, you're not "over run by californians." your full of arrogant locals who hate anyone not born into your state.

dont like it? then leave.

(this is coming from my 25 years of experience living in an area of Montana that is NOT Bozeman) its 100% about change. Montana has an old fashion mind sense. We dont like to see change. Most original Montanans are happy with the way it is. It works great for us, so why the hell would we want it to change? We dont need a "big city life", we dont want that. And the more out-of-staters that come in to our state, the bigger it gets and the more "city" it becomes. Especially when they are spoiled, rich college kids from minnesota, colorado, or california that bring in daddys wallet to make changes.

I know in my life so far, there has been major changes to the state. Shit, when my mom went to school in bozo (only ~40 years ago), bozeman was a complete cow town. 19th was a dirt road, there was one radio station that only played twangy country and the towns population was tiny. I know PLENTY of Montanans that visit the Bozeman area, come back and all say the same thing; Its not Montana. It has changed and is completely different from the rest of the state. And original Montanas arnt fond of it.

My $.02

lol montana getting paved roads and multiple radio stations?? thats the definition of selling out

My mom is the most disorganized person on this planet. We were supposed to leave for steamboat at 10, but here we are just departing at 1:30. I dont know why I never expect this since it happens every single time we go on a trip. She also feels the need to pack every single amenity in the house. She was going to bring 4 12 packs of soda up for our 2 day trip and I dont even drink soda. I had to bargin with her and now we are "only" bringing 1 1/2 cases. We are only going to be up in steamboat for two days and she packs the biggest suitcase she could find.

My mom is the most annoying person in my life currently

this dude got super heated at me and my sister today in the liftline for not letting him buddy up with us for he chair ride. then he proceeded to act like a kid and stand on the tails of my rockered fatties. people are so fucked, lol.

It's really starting to piss me off that I asked for ~20-25 hours a week at work over winter break and I'm getting 55 this week(and most likely the rest of break). One, I'm not allowed to make overtime and two, I have other shit to do. I give them my availability for 9-3 some days, and other days 5- close so I can ski around that schedule. I've been getting 6am and 7am shifts and working till 4 or 5. This is not cool.

I was supposed to be off today, but they asked me to come in from 8-12. I thought 4 hours wouldn't be a big deal. I was wrong. I didn't get out till 2:30. And I was planning on returning my textbooks today because it was the last day. They close at 3 and there was no way I was going to get there on time. So now I have to pay 100 bucks for my textbook. I would have returned it earlier in the week but I worked late everyday and couldn't.

If it were summer I would have been all over the idea of working this much. But no, over summer I got 3 maybe 6 hours a week. They know I ski/travel and they know I have other obligations to do with both. I get that we are understaffed, but that isn't my fault. I've worked 8+ hour shifts since Sunday. And I'm not going to be off til next friday. I requested off for christmas 2 months ago because my family is going out of town. So I guess I either tell them to fuck off or I spend Christmas at home, alone, and working.

This is ridiculous. 7 days a week for 2 weeks straight is bullshit. Like this is really the only time I have to ski and be home and I don't want to waste it making fucking sandwiches for rich fucks at Panera Bread.

Cant wait to go to panera bread tonorrow and have those peasants they call employees make me sandwiches.

Was waiting for my friend to take his turn in derts. The dertboard turned off and stole 6 credits and my winning game. Motherfucker.

Im doin pretty good today. Always kind of on the edge but sometimes it's intense. Was pretty lost and didnt know what to do. Hadnt heard back about my job, that wasnt it but added to it. Would have booked a flight to peru but that deal was gone. Also bought my car today. Had i had it yesterday id have gone for a random roadtrip to somewhere. Didnt think my car would make it out of new york. Still pretty stressed but its feeling more manageable today.

Somedays it just feels like it isnt worth it to fight. Those are the days that scare me. Thats why i quit my job and decided to move. Being depressed is one thing but living where i was wasnt good for me. No place is perfect, but i just need some fresh air.

Cant wait till the holidays are over. Not a hater i know its great for a lot of people but its a lot of anxiety and stress to me. Early jan regardless of where i am and what im doing will feel good.

But i appreciate it and might take you guys up on it sometime. Thanks yalls :)

No problem man. I'm back in cuse for break, if you ever make it out this way for something before the 9th let me know. Maybe we can shred or get a bite to eat somewhere.

After living in Montana for 3 years now I am reaching my limit with the people here. Yes I love it here and yes the people are very friendly for the most part, but I fucking hate it when "Montanans" start talking about out of staters and their hatred towards them.

Guess what, if you are white and living in Montana someone in your family somewhere down the line came across on a boat from a different country and then moved there. So you are a fucking out of stater too. I've never heard one native american complain about out of staters or white people and they actually have a reason to complain.

Their reasons are population density and that out of staters don't know how to drive. NEWS FLASH Montana was ranked second in worst drivers of the nation so I think it is you who is the bad driver. Also Montana is fucking 48th in population density. The only ones behind it are Alaska and Wyoming. Montana will NEVER be overrun with people, it just won't. There are no ports and could never be a self sustaining country on it's own and there are not big enough cities to create a fuck ton of jobs so it will never happen.

Like this dumb bitch the other day posted this on Facebook. Also this dumb bitch was originally from California, but just went to high school and stuff in Montana.

"I don't understand how Montanans can hate out-of-staters so much...but they are all for the big chain stores and restaurants that out-of-staters have brought here. No. It doesn't work like that...."

Maybe because people want to be a normal society and it creates jobs in Montana? 10.9 Million non resident people visited Montana last year. Number one, that is over 10 times the amount of people that live in Montana (which is just over 1 million) and it made up 11% of Montana's earnings.

Out of staters run the fucking state, get over yourselves.

First of all you have lived in Montana for 3 years. I have lived here my entire life and have watched the reason for out of staters (specifically californians) fuck up Montana. This is largely due to big money buying out all the land, competing with local agriculture, and imposing bs environmental laws. A lot of people in this state are decedents from those who homesteaded the area (Sierra Club). It's tough to live in Montana, so people take pride in calling it there home. You should ask someone about this to balance your opinion. It's not coincidence that a lot of Montanans feel this way.

Meant Sierra Club for the environmental issues, not reference to homesteading.

See I don't buy that. If it was really about change and staying "old fashion" then why not stay that way? The Amish have done it for hundreds of years next to Philadelphia which is one of the biggest cities in the country.

I've also worked on a ranch outside of Miles City so I know what "real" Montana is. Bozeman is still "Montana". Most people were pretty excited that a fucking Olive Garden went in. Again, Montana doesn't have the infrastructure or jobs to support more people than it already has. All the arrogant Montanans have nothing to worry about.

State pride is kind of a joke imo. Everyone love's their state. Vermont, Colorado, California, New York, Montana allegedly. Maybe a few states that nobody like but for the most part everyone's state is "special".

There are lot's of differences between states, there are some really cool things about certain states, I just don't really get the state pride thing.

That said I'm looking forward to hopefully getting their in the late spring along with some other states.

/it's late so this post might be dripping with durppp

I fucking hate New York. The Empire state of taxes and Cuomo dick sucking. The only thing I'm proud of about NY is the Catskills and the Adirondacks.

Whenever I hit my head I get the worst headaches and the only thing that helps is weed, but I don't want to actually get high. i just need to relieve my head, it's also probably not smart to smoke after an injury. I'm sick and tired of getting hurt.

So I left my aux chord in my friends car and I have to listen to the radio for the first time in a few years. I was just wondering if other people feel like music has gotten worse or am I just a grumpy old fuck? Like I hate all this new pop country shit.. can't stand it. Also everything on all the "popular"stations sounds like shit in my ears like what happened in that one south park episode. Even like the rock stations play this weird pop rock or indie garbage... the only thing I can listen to is when they have like throwback lunches where they play old music. So I just assumed that new music is shit..

No, music today is the worst. I stick to Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin albums.

I agree on the radio.

There's a decent rock station out of albany but they lean more towards the "classic rock" side of classic rock. My version of classic rock includes less hair metal and more allman bros and other 70s shit. It's all good though. Two for tuesdays got 2 pink floyd songs. They also cut off the comfortably numb solo but they didn't play that today so it's alright.

Also some EQX from VT. Alternative radio. It's alright. Once in a while they randomly chuck some phish on and that always makes me smile.

Bought a car, went to register said car, check engine light came on. Can't register car in NY with check engine light on. Just got this car so I can get the fuck out of here. Pretty stoked. Also had a doctors appointment and heard some great news(sarcastic as fuck).

On the plus confirmed for my job in CO. On the downside I need to get this car shit straightened out. Also might not be the best idea for me to leave NY right now because I have NY health insurance. Also that's going to run out in 2 months. Might end up having to have a surgery or two. If that happens after my health insurance runs out I think I might just jump off a bridge or something.

/honestly made this thread to bitch more about stupid stuff like pencil sharpeners, slow internet, and not having enough food to get fat. Hopefully I get my priorities straight and shift back to that soon.

Did you not read what I said? Montanans are trying to keep the original Montana, its people like you that are changing it. We dont want that. CheeF just supported this fact a few posts ago.

Montana doesnt have the jobs or income to support itself? What do you call farming and ranching?

Im done arguing with you. Respect for our home state is something Montanans are proud of, and youre proving that its something you wont understand.

And exactly like CheeF said, its not a coincidence that a lot of Montanans dislike out of state people and money, such as yourself.

And I'm the one ruining Montana? Sorry, last time I checked I was pumping money into the economy here and doing it the "Montana" way. (Buying local, working in agriculture, drink pbr, ...)

Don't judge a book by it's cover, I can't control where I am born or grew up just as much as anyone else. And to reiterate, your family was at one point out of staters. Everyone forgets that detail.

I love the idea of Christmas. Giving people presents and getting drunk with family while eating great food sounds phenomenal. But every year I always get the same comments from family members, oh you look so great in a dress, why don't you wear girls clothes more instead of looking like a punk? Or how one of my 50 cousins just got another degree and just moved somewhere amazing to practice law, or be a doctor, or moved to Egypt to teach anthropology at university. Like screw all of you. Just because I would rather wear oversized flannels and snapbacks doesn't make me a bad person, and the fact that I don't want to spend half my life in grad school doesn't mean I'm not going to do anything worthwhile. I always feel like they're ashamed of me when I visit and it sucks.

I hear ya. I think my summer working abroad was the first thing family approves of.

At least yoir fam gets drunk. Always on my own or with one or 2 of my cousins.

Family is cool but i never felt much like family with my family. I guess a lot of people feel that was which is pretty shitty.

Im going sober this year. Have a drink for me. Hopefully you have an alright time. The holidays are stress and anxiety for me. I cant wait to be in jan.

This Christmas has been/ is going to be so rough. My mom, dad, brother, and sister all left without me when I was at work to visit my grandma who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. This is probably her last Christmas and I really wanted to be with her this year. I haven't seen her and now I don't know when I'll be able to again.

Tonight my dads side got together like we do every Christmas Eve. My grandpa had a stroke last year Christmas Day so it's pretty hard to see him in the state he's in today. He's still with us, but it's not the same. After the stroke everyone was convinced he'd be back to himself and healthy but that's just not the case. So my cousin wrote my grandpa a letter for our secret Santa/gift exchange about her favorite memories growing up. In the last part she listed her top 3 and her number 1 was saying goodnight to him Christmas night 2013. Idk it just hit me really hard. Last year today was the last day my grandpa was( for a lack of better terms) "really" here. It was his last "good" day. I miss him a lot. I don't know how everyone else in my family is so happy right now. Hopefully tomorrow things are a little bit better tho!

I hope you guys are all having a good Christmas and you guys can be with your family and friends(: Enjoy it while you can because you never know if you'll get another Christmas with them.

Just woke up from a 2 hour nap in my mom's car after walking out of the party when everyone started to get a little drunk and turn into an asshole. So my cousin had a baby a little over two months ago I think. She's showing my mom some pictures of the baby and I walked over to my mom to see if she remembers where I left my purse.

My cousin then decides it would be a great idea to rub her baby in my face saying, "hey do you want to see some pictures of the new baby? I heard you didn't have too much luck with that this year but hey, with all that motherly instinct bottled up and no baby of your own, you'd make a great babysitter for Faith!" And she actually fucking laughed about it. So I grabbed my bag and walked out. I think that's the last Christmas I'm spending with extended family.

Did she really say that?

That might be the most fucked up thing I've heard somebody say to family. Hopefully you can go skiing asap or do something to improve things. That's pretty fucking shitty honestly.

I wouldn't blame you for bailing out on christmas with the fam. I've been thinking about it for a while. I might just bring a boy with me next year, let a religious shitstorm ensue over that and then not be asked to attend again/ make things easy on myself.

I hope things turn up for you soon. Hang in there. I'd love to make promises that things will definitely get better in no time but you and I both no that'd be bullshit. I really do hope things turn around for you though.

It's nice when life cuts people a break sometimes. When the daily is just about survival and the future is bleak/unknown that's a pretty shit situation. People talk about happiness and I hope that everyone finds it, at least at some point. I don't really know what it means or how it feels, but the chance that it's real has convinced me to keep on trucking sometime. Maybe one day.

Hopefully your new years is better.

Somebody got coal in their stocking.

Maybe i just like the internet. Btw i bought i bought me a fresh set of skis last season.

Also dont beg people for money. I spent the summer shredding nz, moving to co next week, planning to check out a spot in wyoming early summer, than go back to nz.

Idk why id stay on a ski forum considering i clearly hate winter. Ill probably move to florida next year to play bingo.

Hell, i didnt even make this account. Somebody made it for me and i never left.

In your mid/late 20's still post whoring on NS when you arn't even a skier. At what point do you get a life?!?!?

I know it's hard being gay and having your scary ass religious parents hate you. But man you are creepy as fuck. Like damn son there is more to this world then then a ski forum, which is ironic because you don't even ski. Like get a real job instead of begging people for money

Dude these forums only exist because people talk on them like they are in the same room as other participants. If everyone was super cool like you and just lurked there would be nothing. So fuck off.

Im older and I post just as stupid shit and hell man the only person I've met off here went to the school that employed me as a soccer coach and was the same age and knew all my players I probably shouldn't be posting dumb shit (you know judging by rules of the internet and common decency and all) but who again cares or gives a fuck? Im skiing a shitload this year but last year I barely skiied at all before late March because there was no snow shit happens that takes folks off the hill.

Probably the best christmas has ever gone. Was bummed for some of it because a $55 ticket I got for my sisters husband went MIA but somebody finally found it in with their stuff and it got to him.

Talked to everyone, no real anxiety or at least not too bad.

Great success.

Which is also ironic because you're on the same forum posting this shit.
