No. Fuck you.  You are wrong.  You will get good at skiing wrong, but there is no way you will become an actually good skier from only park skiing, Hence your lack of powder skiing ability.  Racing teaches you how to control and use the actual ski, not just slide down the mountain.  Trust me, you might think you are skiing well, but if anyone who actually knows how to ski even see's you on the snow, they will automatically know that you suck.  You can tell if a person knows how to ski pretty easily, even if they are just hitting a rail.  Its all about how you are on your skis, and it is very apparent.
But that aside, just cause you dont know how to ski and dont want to learn doesnt mean you can't have fun, I have plenty of friends with no racing background at all and they can still ski, they just will never have the understanding that they would if they had been taught correctly.
