freezy's on to something with his money comment. it seems like thats where all the clout is with managment. Even though mgt may want to help push their park and events that coincide with it, the $$$ involved with spandex pole jockeys is hard to ignore, and very ingrained into the ski culture as a whole.
what needs to happen to bridge this gap of cultures a little better is an increase in local skier cross events. Where both styles can be seen, utilized and embraced all while calling it skiing.
The problem here lies with a precieved lack of interest amoungst park designers / risk managers / and marketing. While I like the idea, not one person approached me on the idea this season, so its hard to justify the 50,000 it would take to do it properly and just come up with something else to do.
