mmmmkkk

Im currently skiing on some Head Mojo, 181, with rental bindings and i have dont have ski boots...grew out of em...

I was wondering what a good setup would be for 75% rail, and 15% jumps,

I am 5'11 and 180 lbs...

'

i was looking at ninthward...any good??

What are some good bindings??

Good Boots for this??

75% and 15% doesn't add up to 100%...hmmmm...

Anyways, that doesn't really matter, because it doesn't change the fact that you do a lot of rails. The invaders/anthems would be good. They have these special thick edges for reinforcement, and they're flexxxayyyy! I find myself recommending these alot. They'll hold up on jumps but won't be great because they're soft, but you don't jump much so no worries.

As for bindings, I've fallen in love with Look P12s. They aren't made anymore, but your local shop might have them or you may be able to find them on here. They have a pivot heel, which is nice, and the DIN is high enough to stay in but you're not paying for extra, unneeded power...

If you can't find P12s, maybe look for Rossignol Axial 2 120s or PX12s. Both are solid bindings as well. Don't be fooled when someone says PX12 jib. All it is is a little soft plate under the binding that is supposed to help cushion your landings. I personally think its stupid: thats what knees are for.

For boots, buy something that fits well. Read lyndon's thread that's stickied in here, and then go to your shop/bootfitter and try some stuff on. You should be okay because you're not doing much jumping, which decreases the likelyhood of shinbang, but they should fit well nonetheless.

Good luck finding your gear man, I hope that helped you out :)

I agree a lot with blondi. Bindings either look or rossi.

And for boots I have tecnica Agent 80 and I like those, wish I got a boot alittle stiffer though. You can get 08's pretty cheap right now.

yea dude, i agree that you cant go wrong with anthems or invaders, super nice buttery skis that still hold up good on jumps. as for axial 120s though, i would go with the look/rossy/dynastar 140s or px 14s or whatever, because they have metal on the arms of the heelpieces and are much better made. the composite they use on the 120s wears out and will give you loose forward pressure. as for boots, see a fitter, it may cost 1 or 2 hundo more, but its the best money you can spend. any good boot fitter will find a boot that fits your foot and riding style and mold the liners and everything. completely worth it.

every edge ive ever blown out has been going in is the thing, so i dont really know how effective that edge armor would be, plus dumonts arent as buttery for rails, and ive found lines edges to be absolutely bomber. best part of their skis.

so if im 5'11 and 180 lbs. what would be some good sized skis?

I live in Georgia, and there is only like 1 ski shop, bout 5 hours away...thanks for the help everyone!

if youre going with the anthems or invaders, id say 178 would be your best choice. some people are gonna say 172, but at your size youd just overpower the ski and jumps would be miserable for you. also a side not if you go with the anthems or invaders, people ive talked to say that the sweet spot on them is actually 1/2 to 1 cm back from center, which will seem odd because theyre a symmetrical ski but if you look at the volkl walls, also a symmetrical ski the boot center is also set a touch back from true center, and you really want your weight over the center of the curve, and with forward lean thats where it puts you. anyways, good luck with the skis and hope this helped.

oh, and if you go to evo and use the coupon code "freeskier" you can get the anthems for $285 or the invaders in a 171 for $185

dingo sean is going to be biased towards boone skis, just like i am to my product. you should listen to him, just take it with a grain of salt. as for me i dont personally know about 9thwards

You need AT LEAST 178...nothing less. Trust me, I'm your size and I rode 171s for a while because I grew in/out of them. They're like twigs to me now. Get 178 or higher, if you can. Grabs will feel better
