Decent flick. Pretty intense as far as Bond movies go, but def not as good as Casino Royal.

*spoilers*

Anyone else kinda pissed that we still don't know anything about Quantum? They practically tease us the whole movie and then BAM it ends.

4chan spoiled it for me last night ha. Bastards. I guess from what ive heard this movie has been demoted from a theater buy to a download~

Craig is a terrible bond, Sean Connery was an awesome Bond, Moore was a decent Bond, Dalton is somewhere above Craig, Brosnan was a good Bond as well. Casino Royale sucked more dick than porn. It was so bad for so many reasons. I am optomistic about Quantum of Solstice even though Flemming is no longer a writer.

Alot of action and lots of plot loopholes but I still loved it. I thought it was better than casino royale. That was a good one but it seemed too fake. This is true bond action. Nothing too over the top but still holds your attention.

Yea i thought the last bond was absolutly terrible, i didnt even make it through the whole thing. and i love james bond movies

I saw it today and Casino Royale was definitely better. It had a lot of good action scenes and was overall a good movie definitely worth seeing if your a bond fan.

i pretty much disagree with everything you just saidimo order of bonds from best to worst:connerybrosnancraigmoore

casino royale was sick and from what i've heard solace is legit also, just solid action

i really like brosnan for some reason, he pulls off bond really well imo with the intense suaveness and the good fightingalso you can't compare the 2 because casino royale was meant to depict bond before he became suave, it was only until the end where he shot white that he became the bond we all know, so it seemed much more gritty and real because he was meant to play the role of a rookie bond

the reason that is is because the writer changed i believe, and they wanted to give Daniel Craig's version of bond more of a Jason Bourne type feel.

for some i too really like brosnan. I think its a generational thing, he was the bond throughout my childhood and early teens. Every bond i saw in theaters, and every video game bond (GOLDENEYE!) looked like him. He was my childhood bond, so thats probably why i like him

but i am going to see Quantum of Solace tomorrow, and am looking forward to it, i missed casino royale

i just saw the quenantam of solaece tongight and i ddint like how it ended it was shitty. I want to go see casino royale aagian. Because theis was so gay cayuse it ndded so wierd.

I really dont like how craig lacks the connery humor. Thats what made bond for me, being a bad ass and hilarious at the same time.

twas a good movie, definitely worth the time and money to see it.

(but ive seen every bond movie so i really enjoy Bond movies)

Movie wise, it was fantastic. Great action, great look and feel, great acting, pretty good writing, high pace, decent plot.
Bond wise, it was almost useless. At the end of CR we see bond as Bond (with a capital Suave). In QS, we get bond tying up the loose ends and learning to deal with his emotions. And at the end we see him act like James Bond (with a capital Legit Spy).
So, from QS we get the name of the recurring villain, and we get the final birth of the Bond we know and love.
If you watch it in conjunction with Casino Royal, and conceder it the third act (the first two being CR), then it works as a bond movie.
Otherwise, go enjoy a trauma inducing (in a good way) action flick (hotties included).

It excites me to think that Bond will still be building on the base they are establishing with these last two films, when I am too old to ski.

I agree, it was a great movie independently, but broke away from a lot of the traditions of Bond. I found it becoming more and more like Jason Borne, which I think is ok, but they need to balance realism and bond, which I think they did fairly well in Casino Royal, and reasonably well in Quantum of Solace. I didn't like the plot that much though; they spent so much time developing the characters that the plot got little attention,

If you actually read any of Ian Flemings books, you'll realize that Craig is actually much more like James Bond than any of the other actors. The blunt instrument comment in Casino Royale was spot on. Just because he is not the same as previous Bonds does not mean he isn't good. Casino Royale is among the best Bonds period. Unfortunately, the script of this one was not as good. It just felt far too stretched and didn't utilize the actors well. I still liked the general feel of it though.

I thought it was really good for several reasons.
1) The movie had a level of realism unmatched in any of the other bond movies to date (with the exception of Casino Royale). I really enjoyed this aspect of the movie. While there weren't a ton of gadgets and stuff, I didn't feel like the film was at all lacking because of it.
2) Some critics have been complaining about the lack of a story line. I felt that the movie had a more memorable story line than Casino Royale.
3) It's nice to see a movie where Bond has repercussions for his actions. In Quantum of Solace he actually has to answer to M and she often chides him for making kills. This only adds to the realism and the sense that it really could have happened.
4) Critics have complained about the story focusing too much on Bond. Not only do I disagree with this, but, it is almost impossible to overdevelop a character unless they are purposely two dimensional, which Bond certainly is not.
5) Craig is a kick ass Bond. There, I said it. He is not only a fucking badass, but he is also a good actor and is able to portray a complex character that is not two dimensional like past Bonds.
6) I thought the action and the drama elements were well balanced in Quantum of Solace unlike Casino Royale.
The only criticism I have of Quantum of Solace is that the actions scenes, especially in the beginning needed slightly better camera work, they were often too choppy to really observe what was going on.
Anyway, great movie. I think the way you could dislike it is if you hated Casino Royale, it definitely continues the theme of CR.

It was a lot better than Casino Royale, still don't like Daniel Craig as Bond but I guess he will grow into more (hopefully).

Good action all the way through that held your attention (although some I thought was a bit ridiculous). It was missing the Bond gadgets though...

I feel like a retard for saying this but I thought it was terrible. At no point did I understand what the fuck was going on, They left too much for interpretation. Plus I was so caught up in how unrealistic everything was that I couldn't pay attention to what was going on. And I hate craig as bond, what did he have, 3 lines the whole movie? And his pickup line was terrible.

ok, i finally saw this, and I really liked it. I think older people who see this won't like it because it isn't like many of the other Bonds. This one gives Bond a much more emotional side, he has problems and has to cope and deal with them. I never saw Casino Royale, but aren't these movies supposed to be taking place at the very start of his career? If that's the case, then it somewhat makes sense that he doesn't have a watch that does everything or a car with useless abilities, that by some miracle turn out to save him.

The plot i thought was not too bond like, why would MI6 care that much about the water prices in Bolivia? But of course that just ties in with the whole organization that we know nothing about (thought it seems Bond does at the end) and should make for a good sequel. While I miss the supervillians, I kind of like this type of plot more because it's real. No one is going to blow up the earth while they escape on space shuttles or anything like that. And there is no henchman who can chew through metal. It's quite realisitic.

I also agree with whoever said it, how bond now must answer to his seemingly random killing because he's killing possible leads. Overall, I'd say this is definitely worth seeing, but if you're expecting an old style Bond, with tons of gadgets, sweet cars, a lot of sex, and a ridiculous plot, then you'll hate it.

(oh, and people complain that he never does or says some things, like "bond, james bond" or his whole martini shaken not stirred thing....remember, there are other "classic" bond movies when he never does those things either)

oh, i forgot, was i the only one who thought Dominic Greene's assistant guy looked like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber?

actually it's all about tracking down mr white. not really the water in bolivia. if you watch casino royale before you watch this movie you'll understand so much more. i didnt really get much of the plot until i watched casino royale again. the movie takes place hours after casino royale ends so its really like one big movie.

if Casino Royale was better, then it must suck, because Casino Royale was a poker game and a 3 second car chase. But, i'll go see it this weekend and decide for myself.

^Don't bother, it sucks! I went for free and left feeling like I had just been scammed. It is just another cliched action film, except with nothing noteworthy to even talk about afterward.
