PVC is a relatively slippery surface on its own. Not to mention the base of your skis is equally hard and slippery. What you have to watch for is the turf and the run-in. Cover the turf in water and dish-soap as a lubricant, and it will slide well. Once you leave the turf to the rail, your bases will retain a little bit of the lube as you hit the rail. That will allow for you to not wet and prepare the rail, as your skis will already be 'lubed up' from the turf run-in.
