I just called PSIA in Albany, and I am faxing up my info now, so I'm in. But there is a problem. We need at least 6 people to attend for PSIA to not cancell the event, and right now, I'm only the fourth one to sign up.
People don't realize that we (instructors) need to work with PSIA, and get people involved in this accredidation program to legitimize our sport to the ski area management's and their insurance companies. Come on people, I know there are other instructors on here too, WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED and push this through.
I took the first accredidation program last year (the first time it was offered), at Okemo, and we didn't have too many people attend (unfortunately). Because of this, all the other Freestyle/Freeride programs were canceled. Lets not let this happen this year. There is still time to get in. If you took the Okemo event last year, or the Mountain Creek event this year, why not take the next step. If you know how to contact people that were at either of these events, please do so and let em know that we need people to sign up. The main office in Albany told me that if we don't have 6 people total by Friday, it will most likely be cancelled, so lets get on the ball.
life is too short to have any regrets
