let me start this off by saying im not tryin to make fun of anybody. it may seem like that, but im not. Im all for girls that ski, i love them. It would just be nice to actually see some legit girl skiers and not the ones who only post bar pics or party pics. im gettin sick of all these myspace shots and yes this has been debated before, but this was the last straw...i realize there is a "people" section but this issue goes beyond posting pictures of people

a girl posted a picture that looked familiar to a myspace shot. no skiing what so ever. and the majority of the pics in her profile consist of no skiing as well.

i commented sarcastically about a nice mute grab because im tired of seeing these kinds of pics. so i attack things i disapprove of with heavy and sometimes dark sarcasm.

so back to my original purpose of this thread...

the girl that posted the picture PM'd me and asked, AND I QUOTE:

"What's a mute grab...dare I ask."

again, im not tryin to make fun and im not going to post the username or even the picture.

all im saying is come on ladies, if you want guys to stop thinking of you as a piece of meat or whatever egotistical male chauvinist views you think we have; show us something that doesnt involve a bar, or a party. even if the pic of you skiing is bad, its still skiing. i for one would much rather see a steezy pic of you rippin it up instead of blood shot eyes and a cup of whine.

 
well its not like girls that ski dont put up myspace pics, that part of being a girl is looking good or atleast trying to

i understand where you're coming from, but i don't have any pictures of myself skiing either. because i only ski about 3 days a season, (up until this year because i have a car) i don't wanna waste my time, or friends time taking pictures when i could be riding.

i say just chill, it's an online forum where anyone is welcome and you really shouldn't stress too much. i feel you though
 
i was going to say "well what if she's not a freestyle skier, maybe she's a ski racer.."

but this is a freeskiing site. and even if you are a ski racer you know what a mute grab is.

i consider the people/summer photo section, especially in the off-season, to be like the NSG of pictures. the non-ski-related ones.

but in the winter time, once the season starts, the people section is usually full of skiing pictures again anyway, so yeah.
 
wow super lame...but i hear ya about the myspace pics. that goes without saying.

but i totally agree with what michelle said.

there are a shit load of girls on here though that can really ski and for that im greatful muhahaha

the only thing ridiculous about the whole posters situation, is that she'll never see this thread, cause i doubt she steps a foot out of the picture section. haha. if she did, and commented, there would be some redemption.
 
ok ill be honest i dont know what a mute grab is but thats because ive recently gotten into skiing and i have to focus on not killing myself before i try anything like that. Ive seen tricks on ski videos, and i know a few basics but seriously maybe she was only asking the question so she could learn.
 
And she listed her home mountain as "Created Butte" good god at least spell it right, i bet she comes here once a year with her family
 
oh man, the girls only posted two pics in the last year, the rest are all 2005 or older and arent myspace-like at all. i think you should pick a new example and leave this one alone...maybe she's just really really stupid.
 
I have little to no respect for most girl skiers. I have been to way to many comps where a girl just slides the rail and makes a few hundred bills. Granted love for skiing and effort counts for something but come on.
 
Ok, yea so your a skier. Still dosent mean that the level of girls skiing should be so low as it is right now. I just dont see any reason that girls need to suck so much at skiing. Its not a physical thing becuse I have met girl skiers that are just as strong if not stronger then I am. You can be a skier, but I dont think that girls should ride at such a low level and still make money and get product. A girl can strap on a pair of skis hit a box then get full hook ups and win alot of cash.
 
werd yo. im just getting into the whole park thing. catch me anywhere on the rest of the mountain and youd think completely different about it.
 
I was talking more about park becuse there are alot of good racers, and all mt riders but you girls blow at the park shit.
 
I'm with misty7 on that one.

And don't blame it on physical reasons.

Woman are just as capable as guys in gymnastics, and skiing could be the same too since it's a similar idea.
 
i dont ski and i dont know what a mute grab on skis is...

if i asked you what a benatar grind on a skateboard is would you know?
 
If I was on skateboarders.com, as a member for a while, (don't know if it exists), I hope that I would know.
 
most girl skier are skiers because they were raised skiing. Which means they most likely come from a background of either big mountain skiing, or ski racing.

Park came along later, which gives you four types of skier chicks:

1.) the all-mountain good skier, who ocassionally messes around in the park

2.) the racer, or big mountain skier that doesnt bother with the park at all

3.) the previous big mountain skier/racer, who dedicated their time in the park when it became popular, and are really good at both (pros)

4.) the park rat, who started in the park so they're not great skiers, are still in the park, and do it mainly for the boys, and couldnt ski back country if their life depended on it.

that being said. the only good park skiers above, are the girl pros. So...if you're going to bitch about girls sucking in the park comps, what are your suggestions? they could do away with the girl comps (that certainly wouldnt promote girls getting better in the park, would it?), or they can continue to have them, promoting girls to at least try it.

but it seems to me, like the main thing you care about is these girls getting this undeserved free shit. Is'nt it all just supposed to be for fun anyway?

and if that's the case, then who cares how good you are, everyone at the mountain is there because they like to be there and they're having fun, more power to them.

i ski, except i forget to take my camera OR it doesnt snow here...so it takes forever to get to a legit ski resort with a good park
 
purplejumpsuit has myspace style pics of me wearing her clothes, she said she was going to post them, she never did
 
Sorry Dan, all three gurls in that pic are really hot, so they can do what ever they want. You loose this one and they win.
