Pros with no helmets

when i go days skiing in my comfort zone i just rock no helmet and headphones, but if i every want to try somethin new i always wear a helmet. But thats me. No one said u have to wear one. I Do, and i dont care who else has one. For the record i think helmets look good and are comefortable. Again just my opinioin
 
sure kids look up to them but that doesnt mean they need to wear helmets it is still a personal choice and they are not irresponcible for not wearing a helmet
 
how retarded can you be. ive benn riding in cars for 16 years and have never been in an accident or suffered any injury. (and i dont wear a helmet) ive skied for about ten years and five heavily in the park, and hit my head more times than i can count and have even been knocked unconcious.

therefore i wear a helmet when i ski. but there is no way that you can say there is more risk in a car than skiing. think about skiing in the park. at no time in my life have i been thrown 15 feet in the air over a 60 foot length while spinning in a car. however, ill do it 15 or 20 times per day while im skiing. perhaps next time you should think about what youre talking about before you make such an absurd statement.
 
most skateboarders dont wear helmets right. i know most of yall arent like this, but i cant stand people who are addicted to wearing their helmet because if they dont wear it they get scared, and they try to tell everybody that their stupid for not wearing their helmet to make themselves feel better about having to wear one.
 
i know its begenning to look like skateboarding.I havent seen a pro steet skater where a helmet in years.i know skateboarding u fall on cement but still.if ur doin urben its excactly the same.personally i dont think there uncomfortable and its not like there heavy or enything.its just sorta dumb if u dont where one.

k, look. you drive a car everyday, to work, whatever, theres speed limits, air bags, your not "pushing your limits" while driving your car, theres crash tests to make sure cars are safer etc.

now, i have NO idea why driving a car without a helmet has anything to do with wearing a helmet in skiing.

when you ski, theres always a chance of catching a edge, or miscalculating a trick. Its also for many of us, a sport where we push ourselves almost everyday were out there, trying new things were shit can go wrong. Its not like, oh i rear ended someone, damn my insurance is going up, its oh fuck i just rear ended a tree going slow as fuck on skis, and i just smashed my head because theres absolutley no protection.

If your not wearing a helmet skiing, its like wearing no visor in hockey, it doesnt make that big of a difference if you have the visor or not, but it stops a shitload of damage being inflicted on your face / head, expecially when your in a sport where small shit can fuck you up.

 
Dont worry, I would still call you an idiot regaurdless of your opinion on helmets. Keep up those inspiring and insightful comments.
 
a dude with a gun in his signaute is sad because guys arent wearing protective helmets when they ski and a dude in a crew called 40s blunts ice 9s is sad because a pro skier was drunk. what do you guys want from them!
 
sometimes way worse falls too, cuz skiing has rails, and massively retardedly big jumps...

and yeah the biking pros have caught on that they need helmets... the skiers will catch on eventually

but now especially cuz the helmet does look good, a lot of them are starting to wear helmets way more than they used too
 
maybe this was said already, but i just laughed when kids on Scarred mangle their heads when they do a huge drop onto concrete with no protection whatsoever and end up wrecking themselves.
 
this is not because they are pro that they cant fall. wear a helmet if u want to, and if u think it gay this is just your problem that wont change my choice of wearing one.
 
when I was yunger I never wore a helmet and im suprised im not dead, I always have my helmet on now cuz im trying stuff that I know I could get hurt doing.

I agree it would be a good idea for more pro's to have helmets on in the videos, but as long as they dont say helmets are a stupid idea then im not getting mad.
 
snow and ice hurt just as much as dirt and rocks? WTF if i had a choice of jumping into a pile of snow or a pile of dirt id have to go with the snow.
 
dont say everyone, i freeride in a half face with nothing besides knee pads and gloves

i think its safer gives me more control, i will only use full face for downhill
 
seriously a helmet doesnt make you unbreakable, like idk where kids get this idea that with a helmet on they cant possibly get hurt. Pros are pros for a reason, they dont fuck up, like yea everyone does but its rare when they do and for the most part when do you land on your head cause i've hit my head once skiing and i did have a helemet on and got a concusion and i dont think it would have been much different without the helmet
 
If a kid isn't going to wear a helmet because his/her favourite pro doesn't wear one, clearly that kid is an idiot and a blow to the head won't affect anything. Well perhaps it would rid the world of one more worthless human being.
 
werd I am proud to be a montanan. Seriously how many of the kids here drink or smoke that are arguing for helmets? Your arguement is already ruined. No one used to wear helmets and now all of a sudden its all the rage, do it or your not safe. Do what you want shit happens sometimes. THats life/
