I dunno, I've only had two concussions skiing, and I was wearing a helmet both times. This wasn't the case for me on those instances, but when some people wear helmets they think they are invinclible and then ski outside of the zone they should. I think if you're helmet fits properly it shouldn't be much worse for comfort and maneuverability than just a beanie. Helmets are good, there's a lot of times where I don't where one, esp in the the spring when its hot and feels bulky. It's a good policy though. I do see quite a few skiers who almost always wear helmets. I think another argument would be that pros know teir ability well enough that it would take a complete freak accident for them to fall in a way that would put their head in jeopardy. I know that I've learned how to fall over the years and have ways of keeping my head safe from harm.
