I have a big test tomorrow and am going though my notes and some sample problems from homework. One of the questions is y=3x-41 and I need to find the x and y intercept. I know how to find the x, but forgot how to solve to get the y. Can anyone help? 10/10 for answers!

To find the x intercept, make y=0. To find the y intercept, make x=0.

Lol. its easy. the y intercept is where x=0. so plug in 0 where x is and solve for y.

b=y intercept

y intercept is -41

It's very similar to finding the x- intercept. Instead of setting "y" to zero you set "x" to zero and solve for "y".

You just pug zero in for the variable you are not trying to find.

So y=3(0)-41

y=-41.

For the x variable do just the opposite

(0)=3x-41

-3x=-41

x= 13.7

There you go that's all you have to do.
