ProctorJones.com vs. Jibij

i like jibij for what it stands for and the more "core" brands they carry, but the deals at proctor own. i preorded the 07 thalls for 460 bucks and the SPK boots for 330.

I guess you could say jibij has aeryx and jiberish and I don't if proctorjones has the orage masters or not, but they'e both great shops, I've supported both and plan on buying skis from one of these two really soon
 
I know they carry orage, but do you know if they carry the masters collection, I wasn't sure if they sold it in their shop because it's not on the site?
 
Im not sure what they exactly carry, but they do have more stuff in the shop then online. Even if they didnt have it they could order it for you.
 
I like to support jibij more and more, it helps that it is were i live but josh is a totally rad guy and jon hartman slays it.
 
ya, this really shouldnt be an issue... jibij for sure. not only do they have a better team, they HAVE a team, also, josh is the shit, do you know anybody at proctor jones, no its just an online store that doesnt care? Josh will help you if you have an issue, plus Jibij is actually a freeski shop that knows whats up in the sport, Proctor is just a big sporting good store that carries some twins, and doesnt care... plus jibij is a way dope place to chill on a comfy ass couch and watch ski movies, also jibij has Aeryx, because that is apparently the new hot thing...
 
josh and the jibij crew didnt think twice about hosting, helping out with, and donating to ski comps at the new echo mtn in colorado. support the people who support what you do. 
 
Jibij for sure - Team is rad, company is rad and Josh is a sexy beast. Plus proctor jones makes me think of medical supplies not skiing - they should be selling enemas.
 
sure you can get cheap shit from proctor, but what about shipping? even if its free, its always better to support the shops. plus, what happens if you destroy some of your equipment? more shipping cost to sen it in for warranty, and proctor may not even be able to help you out... break something from a shop, take it in and immediately have an answer and probably leave with new/fixed equipment. the worst thing is when someone complains about price so they buy something online. Then it breaks and they assume that a shop will help them out... they can't. not because they dont like you, but because the manufacturer usually wont approve the warranty for the shop if it wasn't purchased from that dealer. so in a long story short. don't be so jewish, spend a couple extra bucks and cover your ass at the same time. JIBIJ for LIFE!!!
 
Why did I get sucked in to this. Where are all the chicks out there? They are both good shops. We've done business with both. I have spoken to proctor jones by phone. They told me they are just a local eastern shop, not a big place. They have some gals that know their shit too! I do know they helped us many times. We've gotten jackets & skis & bindings from them, always quick & easy. I did try to order a Master's (orage) piece from them they said they have some Gallery, but no Masters. Try calling or emailing. But Jibij is cool, with a great team. Don't know that that alone makes it the place to go.
 
i already asked pj and they arent going to have aeryx. ive tried to order from all of the shops on the aeryx dealer list and they are all sold out- at least of the polycargo in electric blue. hopefully they make more mid season or something.
 
a outerwear company made specifically for skiers. has the reputation of quality that its association with predatorwear gives it, and the colors and fit are fuckin tight.
 
i wish people werent so hyped about it, id get that blue stuff in a second, but i know everyone wants that so yeah fuck that. mabye the neon green one though

So is it safe to say that Jibij is a core shop limited to core brands who supports the athletes and PJ is a local shop who a pretty good freeride section and great prices?
 
support jibij cause they actually give back to skiing. last year they held a comp and did lots of fun events. what has proctor jones ever done?
 
You're right, I don't know of any events they've put on, but they do give good prices and that 10% thing isn't bad...is that a way of giving back? I don't know
 
not really. my idea of "giving back" means the company actually puts some effort into doing something fun that involves the customers or just skiers in general. by lowering prices, thats not giving back. they can sell lower cause they buy more.
 
So how do you feel about a small shop that has a "core" section but also sells family shit? Is that a way to do more business or do you think it's legit?

I've bought from both. Proctorjones had a super-nice lady on the phone that knew her shit.

This next statement has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion since jibij seems both "core" and knowledgable. But if I was forced to choose between a shop that was "core" and one that was knowledgable i'd go with knowledgable.
 
Jibij is core, but also very expensive. Being someone who doesnt have alot of money to spend on skis, i would be good to PJ's
 
i dunno who makes the pricing and shit but t-shirts on jibij are like 30 bucks, which is rediculous....and t-shirt over 20 is overpriced in my opinion.....but i think the company makes the prices so u cant really blame jibij
 
r u serious there is no comparrission the customer service at jibij truely can't be touched, josh carries all core brands because he truely cares about this sport and its longgevity, unlike pproctorjones every thing you put into jibij you get back, josh 100% relies on freeski customers and thus everything you buy there josh puts towards his budget for next year -enough money to get top ramon every once in a while. also you will find things at jibij that are incredably rare and proctorjones won't have cause josh gets hooked up with items thataren't released else where three words: VIVA LA JIBIJ
 
1 week = way before? most shops can get a few items that the majority of other shops either can't get or won't get
