Pre-Workout

Coffee. It tastes good and I know whats in it . I can easily regulate how much to drink when I need a boost as I'm quite sensitive to caffeine

Ive made the mistake of trying pre-work out stuff and I was soooo jittery it scared me. The serving suggestions on those packages are way more that what a small female needs!

I have tried some super high caffeine, taurine, etc pre workout drinks and while they do give me energy I tend to pay for it with a mild crash and mild upset stomach, which usually hurts my nutrition so I've decided I'm generally better off without crazy doses of stimulants. That said, I am a coffee junkie and drink 4 cups or so a day.

IMO preworkouts w high caffeine are generally unnecessary and people just use them as a crutch instead of fixing their sleep, diet, or schedule.

That being said I have about 500mg of caffeine in my body when I'm deadlifting.

old school jack3d. Before it was banned. I swear I didn't lift once when I took it. The laser beams coming out of my eyes moved all the weight.

nowadays I don't lift like I should, but cardio and caffeine makes me feel like shit so I'm not big into pre-workout anymore.

Genius preworkout is my go-to because it doesnt have caffeine. I workout in the evening and try not to drink any caffeine after lunchtime. And also heart break.

C4 seems to work and feel the best for me and is a decent price. It doesnt give me the niacin burn feeling nor does it give me the shakes like some of the others I have tried. I dont use it everyday but when I need a little kick in the pants, it is my go to.

I like muscle pharm assault. They've reformulated over the years so not as good as it once was imo. It dissolves easily in water, tastes good (depending on flavor), and has a good mix of ingredients (original was more well rounded).

Nowadays pre-workout focuses too much on caffeine so be careful and read the label. A lot are around 200-300mg caffeine but I've seen higher. I prefer 150mg.

The major point is the creatine; it's a necessary cofactor in anaerobic respiration so helps you get those few extra reps, and gains. Pre-workouts usually contain vitamins and ingredients useful in NO synthesis as well.

If you're poor, creatine monohydrate plus some coffee does the trick.

Also gorilla mode folks, I'd probably not take their stimulant pre-workout. They have N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine in their formulation. I can't really find much but it appears this is some kind of a synthetic stimulant. AU/NZ ban it. Shady supplement companies do this all they time; tweak a side chain or toss in a new unbanned ingredient extracted from some random plant with a mechanism of action similar to another. My one buddy literally searches out these things cuz he's an idiot. I remember the whole DMAA craze. It's important to note that the FDA doesn't review supplements for safety; they're put on the market and it's up to the FDA to prove they're unsafe. Also good manufacturing processes are a legitimate concern.

Tldr: stick with the stuff from legitimate supplement wholesalers like bodybuilding.com and even then read your labels!

If im tryna get hyped before an xc race or a gym sesh i'll throw back a couple of yerba mates-lots of caffeine but almost nothing else

A Redbull with way too much CBD tincture added along with a little rip of weed gets me straight cracked every time

That shit was the best preworkout of all time... the weights just lifted themselves. It was sooo awesome once you got past all the bugs crawling under your skin

Zeus. 400mgs of caffeine and another 400mgs of stims that "aren't recommended for human use" Its insanely sketchy but that just makes it100x better
