Powerful pictures

i saw that firsthand and saw the switching of the gaurd and got some good videos and pics of tht but i lost my phone,ill try to find it and post em
 
the fact that he just simply opened the little door, then stepped out is crazy. 102,000 ft. And whats more is he jumped from varying altitudes, multiple times.

I'm telling you, back in the 50s and 60s, this country's military and test programs were bold as hell. Doing things that no one would dare even think of now.

Ya your right, the new Russia represents peace and prosperity. And there is only one super power, and its not Russia.
 
I should hope you don't really believe the US is the only super power. There is a frighteningly large number of countries who could wipe everyone off the face of the earth with the push of a few buttons. And in the end, that is what being a superpower comes down to.

(however, if you want to delve into the realm of megapowers, things change. More factors are involved such as economic/production/military might)
 
the gaurds are amazing people. their uniforms may have 0 lint on them at any time. they cannot watch tv, swear, drink, smoke or do anything remotely stupid in public. They must take exactly 21 paces back and forth when guarding the tomb and it must take exactly 21 seconds to do so. His rifle must switch shoulders each time he turns. And I think this all goes on for 12 hour shifts.
At one time, a hurricane was rolling through and the guards were given the night off for their safety. They immediately replied, "No sir."
These are American heros.
 
apparently outside of when they are on guard, they can do the same things other soldiers can. Nothing about never swearing, drinking or anything like that. Of course you won't find one in uniform in a bar, drunk off his ass talking about guarding the tomb, but they are allowed to do usual things. And they change every 30 minutes in the summer, and hour in the winter.

doesnt take away from the job though. real pride respect and honor is shown.

I love that pic, I remember studying it in socials back when I was in high school.
 
This should explain some of it... very briefly.... but essentially Mallory and Irvine probably summited everest 30 yrs before Ed Hillary, but were never seen again.... until in about 2004 i believe, when they found Mallory's body....

whats the source of light near the bottom? or is that just a lit up screen that someone has taken a photo of
 
he completely doesn't understand what a powerful picture is, so he keeps posting pictures of bushes, rocks, waterfalls, etc etc.

some of them are cool, nice pictures, but not powerful.
 
so they are moving, or emotional, but not powerful.

I'm not knocking the photos as some of them are incredible, I'm just saying that they don't quite fit the thread.

This is a powerful nature pic to me. Makes you realize how small you are as a human being. Random trees and bushes in fog? Not so much.
 
Maybe this thread would make better sense if everyone posting says what it is about and why they think it is powerful.

As for this, as J.J.T noted, is the last picture of Pekka Eric Auvinen, who went on a killing spree in a Finnish high school in 2007. He was bullied for years on end and suffering from anxiety attacks, finally leading to a series of unfortunate events. His "manifest" for the destruction of human kind as a whole really struck me, seeing how pretty much anyone can turn out like him and you won't probably see it coming.
