to tell the truth, I loved the old virtika edits back in the day. but I mostly loved them for the degenerate antics, a lot of which haven't aged very well IMO. Their new antics aren't what I'm into either.

I never thought their outerwear looked cool, or looked like good quality. A lot of their sponsored skiers weren't that sick, I have a hard time thinking of any. Do they sponsor any currently? I don't even know if virtika is still in business or not. Their outerwear still looks terrible.

So in conclusion, I think that this brand has been wack from start to finish.

that's a pretty standard price for snow pants made by bigger companies dude. These were handmade and are noticeably better quality than most pants, plus they look dope.

last season I wore 8$ pants I got at goodwill, and before that I was wearing some old pants my brother gave me. I haven't bought a nice pair of new snow pants in well over 5 years. Give me a break dog

I’ll give you a break. Imma just keep wearing my 50 dollar Colombia pants that look the same and aren’t that bad at water resistance. And on the rain days I’ll just wear these nylon rubber coated mfs that I found that don’t let a drop of water in.

I'm not going to try to make a joke here. My opinions on STEPT are very different from a lot of people on this website.

But straight up, I think every STEPT move after the 86 was trash. They don't make you excited to go ski. That's the point of ski movies. I don't want to see you get surgery, and the scary drone/ambient soundtracks aren't hype at all. There are good segments in mutiny and 10 and 2 (of course the clayton opener in mutiny is a timeless classic) but overall I think those movies are unwatchable due to the overly hardo vibes. I've tried to watch mutiny in recent years and I can't get through the intro without laughing. Like, you guys are fucking SKIING. Why does this feel like a horror movie???

You know I agree with you 100%. I watched Mutiny once and ended up giving away my DVD copy I snagged on ebay. It made me feel shitty watching it, made skiing seem shitty, and I felt shitty for the guys making the film for looking so miserable doing something as fun as skiing. I literally felt like shit the rest of the day from a ski movie and laid in bed not being able to sleep that night. I was in the same dorm at CU as Nick Martini and chilled with him a few times and seeing him and the crew all messed up like that just hit me in a really bad way. Especially being exposed to the drug culture at CU and reading about Tom Warnick and thinking if the rest of the crew were on that same shit to cope with their injuries. I knew some kids that fucked up their lives with drugs there and it really got to me. I get they wanted to show the reality of what they went through but if your in that bad of a head space just give it a rest and ski for fun.

I actually watched Freed the Streets a few days after and was like, "Thank God some proper fun skiing degeneracy again."

Not gonna sit and let you bash a memorial piece because you didn’t fuck w the vibe. It’s fine if you didn’t know, I didn’t know until recently either but that whole film was written by Tom, for tom. That was his movie that they made into a reality so he could be immortalized in skiing forever.

I came here to say this as well. Definitely a different vibe for a ski movie but that movie is what got me into free skiing.
