From when I started in 2015, I can already relate to this. The adventure that came with the sketchy, large mid 2000s parks must have been insane.

My tiny local had an up flat down that was probably 8 ft tall, roller coaster that was legit just 2 full rainbow rails that I only saw someone land once, 40ft shotgun rail, crazy death gaps onto rails etc. Smallest rail was 18 ft shotgun, usually set up waist high

super fun out there today. copper next weekend

Like that’s what I dream of modern parks being now that I could actually ride that stuff. So damn sick.

chug was on eira in like 2012 before that it was Saga. Eira was owned by sportchek or canadian tire or some shit I don't think they lasted very long lol

i've heard of that before. ill have to check it out. any website specifically?

funny note, tim durtschi and steve stepp both follow "on cinema at the cinema", an obscure comedy webseries (by tim heidecker) that i love, which in conjuncture with having been sponsored by saga makes them contenders for my favorite skiers haha. the odds of them knowing it are so slim.

Why didn’t Sammy c and tanner hall do a collab project? They’ve both been on armada forever and always shred bc pillows all winter. They both charge, what gives?

Why hasn’t armada been releasing an insanely dank full team movie every year for the past 10 years is the real question

Yo I'm frickin buzzing - went for a hike on the ski area this morning and recovered my GoPro!!

If I remember correctly there has been a rumor about it happening.

Rewatched Mark Abma's part in Seven Sunny Day's the other night, top notch segment, song is so good and he's mad smooth

definitely top5 for me, dude deserves more recognition because some dudes rip him off imo

He has influenced the way people dress as much as henrik has (maybe even more) and also makes the craziest shit look easy the same way ahall does, and then once you factor in how creative his spot selection is and how deep his bag is it's an easy top 5. Up there with Ethan swadburg and Antti Olila and Joona for sure in terms if timeless style while doing buck as hell tricks

For me it's Phil Casabon on that count, but this is the most subjective part of skiing.

It is subjective but to me Phil's style is not as timeless as Andy's and that's a huge factor personally. During peak gilla I would say Phil was the undisputed swag goat and to this day influenced skiing in general more than anyone else, but if we are just talking style then imalways gonna pick a carney, Andy, joona, etc. Just because their style ages so well

What type clothing style has he influenced?

His style is definitely up there with Carney and all of the other timeless smooth type of skiers. I usually forget Petit even exists because I wasn't really aware of the skiing scene when he was in his prime. Only people I knew back then were Realskifi, TC ,

few legendary swedes and the pretzel man.

even better, attack of la nina, at 3:52. just so sick

You can tell a lot of Freeride cats nowadays worshipped his skiing growing up. Simple yet massive tricks like huge floater 3s, giant flatspins, balls to the wall fall line skiing, etc. His segments from older movies would still be considered crazy had they been released nowadays.

I had a feeling this would happen.

I got tired and kinda fell off end of the season but I didn’t really close the chapter. I didn’t feel like I had season closure. I kinda cruised through end of season. So now I am left feeling a huge itch that I haven’t felt since I moved back to CO. Usually, I am exhausted until August and then want to ski again.

Guess I’m hiking the high peaks and glaciers this summer because I have to scratch this itch.

As soon as the solstice hit, I was like "Yeah i kind of wanna go skiing again." I got promoted up to being a FT/YR course maintenance guy with season pass perks through Grand Countys Chamber of Commerce so I might just Patrol PT next season and get back to skiing for funsies and not for a paycheck. This season really burnt me out and day-off skiing just didn't feel as fun as it used to be + all the behind the scenes bullshit of the resort. HMU if you're ever near RMNP/Grand Lake. I just like to do lil walks near Lake Granby and Shadow Mtn.

Yeah my wife will love when I say “Hey I know there are things we want to buy for the apartment but I am going to go spend $1k+ on a bike now” lol

Yeah man for sure. I don’t get up to granby much but it’s beautiful up there. I want to ski ski granby next year though with my partner tickets. I’ll hit you up when I’m in the area!
