Post whats on your mind

People who don't respond to your texts, and if they do it takes like 4 days. You're not that fucking busy, you're just a normal person living a normal life and it's just rude as fuck in my opinion

After 8 years of being pretty close friends I finally called a buddy out on it the other day, and as I knew he would, he got all pissy about it. Fuck em

I do this to my uncle sometimes, because he always sends texts that are multiple paragraphs, often to which I have no idea how to respond. It's like we could just have this as a conversation over the phone but to me, texting is for short messages and not writing essays. It takes time to think and respond and usually when I actually get time, I am way too tired to think of a good response and end up forgetting to do it for days. I feel bad about it but at the same time, it has also made me more understanding when people don't respond to me. I've become more tranquil about the lack of texting. Honestly bring me back to the days of waiting weeks for a letter response in the mail

Played a round yesterday after not swinging a club in 4 years. Surprised myself how well I ended up playing, was making decent contact pretty much all day

I wasn't expecting to be lights-out too but I made some great recovery shots and sank a 10 footer for an epic save.

Why do I need to buy so much new stuff at the same time. I need new jeans. Probably buying dry jeans. I need new shoes. My Vans are fucked up. There was T-shirt I couldn't skip. I needed a new desk lamp. Fuck me. I hope I don't have to buy anything else this year.

If I buy something from a goofy brand that aggravates a ton of people because of their image even though the product is fine am I an asshole or weak willed sellout. The incentive for me is to try something new and it's stupid fucking cheap. 60%

I wouldn't worry about it. I rocked bargain bin bibs I found at Sierra Trading Post all winter and my employee bibs.

I skated on them twice. For some reason my ankles can't really hold up skating.

I got the Breana Geering old skools with the snake for 36€. It was nice find.

People ashing cig butts and stogies on golf courses irks the fuck out of me. Rest of the work crew went out the other day to play our course and got hammered and left trash all over the course. And then got super duper blasted in the clubhouse. Kitchen staff isn't stoked.

Lol, no. It's trek. The bikes.

I hear more bad things about specialized than trek. I own a trek road bike, not the coolest brand but I liked it better than the other couple of bikes I rode.

I got all three of my sportubes there for like 40% off and free shipping. That’s just nuts. Grabbed my pops some adidas trail shoes last week for $43 down from $150 originally. Didn’t realize how many free standing stores there are out west. Saw my first ones in CO.

We had one in Reno and it felt exactly like an outdoor focused TJ Maxx

Alr guys i need help finding a car again well maybe ???

im going to hobart and my parents r selling the pilot they gave to me. absolutely no complaints it’s their money their choice, esp since they’re paying for my school. Do you guys think it’s worth me buying a small sedan with a little 4cyl and little displacement to get cheap insurance and have a way to get around the finger lakes to go hiking and mtn biking? Or should I just save my money? Like I have almost 30k in my savings rn from working the past four years, grad gifts, estate money etc. So do i buy an inexpensive reliable car for 5-8k and pay the 280-400$ a month in insurance? or just let the money sit, cause ofc imma spend while i’m there on food, travel etc, going out. But I won’t be employed there either so like i’d just be spending spending spending with no way to make it back.

I would love to bring my Hightower and my Dark Matter, but there’s nowhere secure to store them in my hall and no mtn biking that isn’t a 20-30 minute drive?

What’s your guys thoughts? Because realistically it would make more sense to just not purchase a vehicle, and bring my road bike to get around geneva. However I don’t rly wanna bring a 4,000$ bike to school with no where to store it. I feel like maybe I should just build a cheapest single speed or refurbish an old old road bike to bring. Then keep saving my money?

What do you have against getting a cheap motorcycle? Probably save on parking fees too.

Having a car would be handy, but if it's a college town not fully necessary. Most of my college transport was served by a single speed. It got the job done and was also pretty dang fun.

I would vote single speed with a good strong bike lock

A buddy of mine bought a shitty hardtail as his campus bike. Stuffed his nice bikes in the place he's staying. That Hightower is gonna grow its own legs and run away pretty quick tbh. If it were me I would run off with the dark matter. ??

Sierra has been owned by TJ Maxx owners for awhile now so that’s exactly what it is. Although, I think I find better stuff overall at Sierra over TJ Maxx

You don't need a car your first year of college. You're probably better off without one. You won't be obligated to visit home as often and you'll make more friends if you spend more time actually around your college. When you do need to get somewhere, you and the other carless freshmen will cram 7 deep into someone's beater sedan. It's more fun that way.

Buy a shitty beater bike for $100. Leave it outside in the snow, park it in sketchy places. It can get thrashed or stolen and you won't care, much better than worrying about your nice bikes. You can bring your good bikes out once you have a real apartment with space to store them.

Not familiar with geneva at all, but can you have a car on campus as a freshman?

If not get/build a cheap bike and buy a decent lock.

Car would probably be nice to have but maybe try a semester without one and see how it goes. You can always buy one later as long as you don't blow through your savings.

Absolutely do not take nice bikes unless you can store them in your room.

I’ve always taken pride in my iron stomach and my ability to eat expired/undercooked/tainted foods without repercussion, so when we were eating Thai food at my in-laws and they pointed out the bottle of sriracha expired in 2007–shame on me for eating it? Or shame on them for having it lol its one thing to have a can of soup or something sit in back of a pantry for decades, but having a bottle of hot sauce in your fridge for 2 decades and not noticing?!

my in-laws never eat or feed me though so I’m quite satisfied ATM

Stress is going to kill you before you spend any of your $30k if you don’t chill out and live your life. Do what you want, you have an insane amount of savings for someone your age. Figure out what makes practical sense, spend the money (or don’t) and move on. I know you asking for car advice on here is kind of a meme but it’s kinda concerning that someone as young as you is so focused on financial success. You obviously have a well-off family to fall back on if need be so calm down and have some fun man

i think i’ll try a semester without a car and if not I’ll buy a accord, camry or impreza sport. Also think i’ll build a single speed. Idk i’m weird with money, I like saving my money and trying to be independent of my parents. I’ve just found my parents try and use them providing for me as a way to boss me around. I almost didn’t go to school at all because they wanted me to go to UW-Madison and I declined my acceptance.

Most school's don't allow freshman to have cars. And with your record, I hope it's the case for that school. LOL. You'll save yourself at least two crashes. Not to mention the temptation of drinking and driving is there for Freshman who don't know hwo to drink properly. lol.

But all joking a side usually freshman get free buss passes or something. I didn't mind not having a car freshman year at all.

story time from your boy paBS

when i was in elementary school they would do a geography bee for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. i was in 3rd grade and won our class geography bee by lying and saying i only had 1 wrong when really i had 2 and should have been out because i was a lil shit. had i known that meant i would move on and have to be in front of the whole school, i probably would have let paul win lol.

so each class winner was in a double elimination geography bee in the gym. 3 or 4 kids from each grade in order by grade. the first 2 kids before me got the question wrong. my question was whats the weather in michigan and i had to determine what it was based off of a print out map. i was nervous as fuck and kept my head down until the time was up and then i said i dont know. the teacher said well guess. i just said rainy and that was correct. then each person after got their question wrong. we got to round 2 and the question was something like ‘where did the union army defeated the confederate army?’ and all of us got it wrong. therefore everyone was eliminated except for me and it was the fastest geography bee ever.

i got a medal and was in the local paper and my dad was so proud but it was a fluke lmao
