top three authors of mine rn

1. F Scott Fitzgerald, mostly his collections of short stories

2. Peter Beard perhaps some of the greatest photo journalism and accounts of the 20th century

3. Hemingway, he will always remain up there

Hemingway over F Scott and Steinbeck over Hemingway and then London for me but good list dog

But if we're branching out from Capital A American classics I gotta go Isaac Asimov and William Gibson

Farewell to Arms would be a good funny caption to make light of a catastrophic fourth of July injury

I don’t like F Scott‘s seminal works tbh, i prefer his shorts, novelets and excerpts, all though hemingways can def rival that

There were 2 B-52 flying in our air space today. According to our defence minister it was partly to assert dominance to Russia. Drop the bombs already...

No then there would be war

i went to my first phish show last night. it was so dope. they played hella good songs, you enjoy myself, david bowie, 2001, had a great time.

i find it hilarious that the only people i know who like tim heidecker are myself, my dad, tim durtschi, steve stepp, and this random dude i saw wearing a shirt that's a reference to on cinema at the cinema last night. i actually lost my mind when i saw that. i should have said something, the only reason you wear a shirt like that is so that somebody might recognize it lmao. im getting one.

Sadly they were flying somewhere in the north and closer to the border. Seeing those two flying would have been like seeing an angel.

Lmao, you might want to lower your expectations a bit. IMO B-52s are ugly as fuck. And their 8 tiny engines leave awful black smoke trails behind them.

If you ever see a B-1, B-2, or F-22 in flight, those are some good looking planes

Well thankfully all b52’s are currently being upgraded with the new roll Royce engines which are far more efficient and don’t spew the smoke. B1’s currently have far more problems than any jet in the fleet which is why they’re being phased out Out of all the current ones available they’re not all air worthy and upgrade cost are soaring. B1,2 and f22 cannot carry the payload of a b52. The b2 is being replaced by the b21 raider. But again those are more for strategic precision bombing. B52’s while they can carry almost all of the newest munitions they’re still the best for massive carpet bombing.

a new potential pen issue arises. fountain pen ink tends to be on the more basic side of the pH table. aluminum is reactive with acidic and basic liquids thus raising concern to corrosion with fountain pen ink...

Eggs. Fish. Chicken. Steak. More Fish. Some More Eggs.

If only lifting helped with hitting the fucking ball straight.

From a more right leaning perspective. Let the dude rest. I feel bad for him. Being in politics for 50 years sounds like agony. I don't wish that upon my worst enemy.

so i learned today that the gym i have access to back home doesn't have bench or squat (no barbell) - is this fine? i can probably do pushup/dumbell workouts in place of bench, idk what i could do to effectively mimic squats with a barbell though, i think there is a leg press available.

You missed the point. My legs match my upper body. His legs don’t match his upper body. Hence skipping leg day.

is it better to have silly legs and a nice upper body or just look fully silly? you know who you are

Not sure how much gym experience you have but incline dumbbell press is one of the best movements for chest and you’ll build a better mind muscle connection than just a bar. For squats goblet, split and Bulgarians are all great options as long as you can find dumbbells heavy enough

I'm not a gym lord, but I do pistol squats on a balance thing that is like half yoga ball. I don't know how much does the balancing affect the thing but I do them anyway.

im tryna work my way up to those. i mean there's not really a progression, just practice. but i'd imagine they help with park skiing.

I only had to practise the balance on my first one. Apparently I had enough muscles for it from something else. I can only do few in a row right now. Now working on normal squats with some weight.

That’s completely untrue and false information.

I kinda feel like I want to jump out of an airplane. Father probably wouldn't let me do tandem, so I would kinda have to go straight to the deep end. I might have to let this thought bake over winter, shit is too expensive.

I almost never use benchpress now. But a gym without those is sort of a red flag. I like dumbells because it allows left and right arms to move independently instead of a barbell where you can favor one side. You can do pretty much any barbell exercise with dumbells, aside from squats - but you can goblet squat and barbell 'deadlift' sort of.
