I want to buy a mountain bike. Jesus there are a lot of variables. I just want a decent starter for sub 2 grand it shouldn't be this hard.

Probs gunna end up waiting for an yt Izzo or Jeffsey or canyon neuron to go on sale and just buy new. I'm not sure I know enough to judge used prices and wear and tear.

Lots of warranty claim horror story’s. Most people I know who bought a yt have not been happy my homie snapped his chainstay and took like 3 months of trying to get a hold of them. They literally don’t have customer service

Tore my left labrum at love pass in may, then tore my right labrum biking in September. I can’t really bike right now. It’s fun but I can’t afford to maintain a bike and I can’t even bike for a while and could use the extra cash

Chillin stuff. Mostly trail/singletrack. In the Black hills if you're looking for an area. I also have a flow park a block from my house so that's chill. Possible light bike packing with the gal.

Total mountain biking newb tho, so won't be going super hard in the paint or need a ton of travel

cool yeah a trail bike with something in the 140 mm travel area would probably be best for you. i have an evil offering which is sick for getting around town, hitting single track, and even going to lift access bike parks though not much travel for anything extra chunky.

stumpjumper would be sick, commencal meta, yeti sb140, kona process, canyon nueron, etc.
 
Where do you live? (state.) what size do you think you need? Hardtail or full suspension? Terrain you will be getting into? I'm him when it comes to finding baller used bikes.

The frames 2016 but everything else including the drivetrain is 2022 or newer. There’s a ton of upgrades on the bike message me and I can give u some more details.

Only one of them was torn over the summer and I didn’t really fall on it the entire summer because there weren’t any jumps to hit. I should be good to ski as long as I keep doing my PT. They’re already making good progress so it’s looking good

+1 for Stumpy's. Not really a bike you wanna be airing features on but it got me through a summer of bike patrolling at WWPC and it crushes single track. It's made for trails

South Dakota, Black Hills area.

I am 5'11" so probably a Lg.

Full suspension

Terrian is going to be mostly chillaxin singletrack. Mostly at the trails in town. Will be taking it on groomed flat trails with the lady as well. Maybe will take it down to fort collins when I visit the brother in law to ride with the homies.

Been going back and forth about looking at EMS jobs in Colorado. Ideally in the next 2 years or before my cert lapses. Or maybe something in the fire route. Im just too much of a pussy to commit and never feel like Im alpha enough to do that shit.

going to fish a famously difficult spring creek with big brown trout today and probably both days this weekend. It's warm so there will be some bugs hatching and i won't get skunked but will probably still get my ass kicked.
