Finally upgraded my janky ass thermostats to nest’s. Gen 4’s just dropped so a bunch of places are blowing out gen 3’s (pictured). Local Home Depot had them on clearance.

too late now but a lot of utility companies or environmental non-profits will offer the smart thermostats for free as they can raise efficiency quite a bit. i got a free one and lowered my bill by saying i would keep the heat temp under 70 on designated days but i kept the heat at 67 always lol

i used to think whole heartedly that everyone is always trying their best in life and with good intent. so i believed in social programs like unemployment, food stamps, etc. because i believed everyone was like me and if they needed the handout, they would use it to grow and give back.

then i had these fuckin shit heads from louisiana come work for me and they were the shadiest people i ever met. constantly lying and using the system to get money so they could just party. they changed my world view on people. fuck the south lol not surprised that the utility company is no different.

Ya I was able to do something like that with my ev charger. As long as i charge off peak hours i get an extra credit off my account for 12 months.

with the thermostats they had a condition that you had to install one of their temp sensors in the house per ac unit and I only kept the credits as long as I kept the ac 76 or above at night and 80 or above during the day.

do we really need usps? seems like there are very viable non government entities that do the same thing. maybe they help keep the price down in the market but we dont see government grocery stores, etc. so it seems a bit silly

Yes we 100% need usps. Why are you asking this? They deliver at a cheap price to places other companies wouldn’t touch/it would be expensive. Plus it’s been a GOP thing for decades to defund the usps and privatize it. Have you seen the future costs they’re required to have? The USPS is actually profitable and that fund skews the numbers since it’s so preposterous. They’re required to have retiree health care costs pre-funded for 75 years. No other government agency is required to have that. It’s all a scheme to force them to privatize.

well i gotta clear my driveway, scrape my window, and drive to pick up a fuckin bed bath and beyond flyer for ‘janet or current box owner’ in my po box cause they wont deliver to my house since its such a rural 5 minute drive from the post office.

meanwhile amazon is halfway to my door from denver off of speculation that i might buy something because the alexa at my neighbors house heard me mention it was cool to my roommate to get him to shut the fuck up 7.6 seconds ago.

Definitely paste and then wet and brush. Guarantees I don’t get dry paste on my teeth but wetting it before hand and then again after the paste is too much work imo

fuck usps yo. we have the technology to send everything on the internet is an instant. the fuck do we need snail mail for anyway? yeah it was a great idea in the pony express days when sharing information was much harder but now we have way too much information at our finger tips at all times. sending letters is irrelevant and we are keeping it alive for no god damn reason except to force more advertisements on people.

yeah usps sucks in rural CO but a lot of that has to do with a certain political party spending the last 30 years trying to shaft it to death. but at the end of the day nobody else is driving out to fucking naturita or burns to hand you your tab renewals and no chance am i letting a corporation touch my ballot.
