yea man i ski there on weekdays.... i dont even buy lift tickets cuz u can just hike faster than the chairlift line.. lol
 
Yeah, man. I live really near to Blue hills but i don't ski there because they have one trail. They classify it as a black diamond, but by anyone's standards it is obviously not.

YES another wilmot skier. It's 40 bucks for a day pass and $475 for a season pass although it is a lot less in the summer.

Heres the trail map, it's somewhat decieving however realize that these runs take a good 15 seconds to get down.

hidden valley missouri, when i skied there 1 lift, 3 rope tows. its on a fcuking golf course. i skied while people were golfing
 
jea hidden valley i used to be on the race team there like 9 years ago!. every tuesday thursday and weekend my dad and i would get white castle and drive there after school loved that place! do they ahve a terrain park now? that place is home of the joey holy shit
 
Yea, but no new lifts have been built since the 80's and the way the "mountain" is set up most of them are necessary and there's literally no land left to expand too. And for those of you that haven't seen it check out last month's powder, Wilmot Mtn, WISCONSIN is featured in POWDER magazine. Pretty ironic if you ask me haha
 
hahahah "The Matterhorn of the Midwest" hahahaha. they did a good job of describing the feel to the place, but the pictures made it look way nicer than it really is. the pizza barn is good, and there are always townies in the bar though.

as for the lift to run ratio, they seldom have all the lifts running, usually about every other lift if it is busy. there are constant rumors of bankruptcy and foreclosure, and every year the quality of the mountain suffers because of the amount of money they are able to sink into it.

it just isnt the travel destination it used to be for weekend trips for illinois skiers, for the most part, and as much as the locals bitch about the fibs, they are what keeps the mtn in business. not the 300 kids with passes from wilmot high school.

this is awesome. I'm spoiled too, born and raise in CO, but i'm gonna say how i feel bad. you guys are gnar-core and it's rad. NS should do a molehill of the month from Jan-Mar, pick out a small, shitty hill, bring some rails, swag, throw a party, do a story. Or maybe i'll just start a magazine and make that a section.
 
i deff have the worst, its like 2 blocks from my house, 1 rope tow, $5 lift tickets or you can hike and 1 run, maybe 500 vertical. its so ridiculous.
 
Check out McIntyre in Manchester, N.H. Base at 0 top of the hill 250ft. 2 quads, not high speed, side by side. Trail names, unless they changed since I was last there, trail 1,trail 2,trail 3.
 
that's an awesome idea! it might be difficult to do with the red tape involving insurance companies and the such, but if it was pitched correctly to the mountain manager, there is immense possiblity for the idea.

all u east coasters loose, u still have real snow and vertical of over 500' same as the eastern canadiens

Buck Hill and Hyland Hills Minnesota are two of the smallest areas anywhere.

But they produce more US ski team athletes than any other mountain in the US.

Same as park skiing. When u can get in 40 runs in less than 2 hours 4 nights a week u get really really good. It's like hiking 3 or 4 hits but w/o the hiking.

Steve knows whats up haha, fucking rope tow is a work out in itself. Plus after a night of a million park rats coming into the rope tow, it creates a fucking 4ft berm to launch off of at the bottom.
 
Feeling really luck now after reading those posts. Good job everyone for keeping the stoke alive after having to ski those mounds when they are the only thing around.
 
how bout cochran's in VT...def produce some good racers but the hill has like 5 trails...a t-bar, rope tow, and mighty might...LEGIT WINNER
