Possible to make a normal ski reverse camber/rockered?

I tend to agree, without some structural part of the ski being made to hold that shape, my guess is that it won't hold the rocker at all...it's likely that it'll just return to zero camber, or regular camber in time. I tried to soften up a pair of libertys last season, supported the tips and tails on the backs of two chairs, and used bench weights in the middle of the ski (yes, it was super sketchy)...didn't seem to do alot really, they softened up some, but not noodle soft, and they certainly didn't go reverse camber/rocker on me.

its all a matter of applying low level, long term heat to the skis. setting the system up in a sauna or a foot over a steam radiator would yeild results. epoxy never really forms a solid, it just becomes very very not liquidy (like glass that flows over time). Heating it would expedite this process.

found your problem...

im gonna try using a small heater underneath the skis to help the process also

I knew someone was going to call that...I picked them and a pair of old concepts for urban use for $50...the Libertys actually haven't been too bad at all, I used them all last year for park and beater skis (and they were pretty damn used when got them)...they've been a good ski for the price.

I'm doing that to a pair of mine right now. Bit of a different method. I"ve got them clamped together just in front of the bindings and put a piece of wood inbetween them to spread them apart. I've got a heat gun that I'm using to heat them. Kinda hard to say now whether it's working but I've got high hopes.

I used a heat gun it cost like 10 dollars at Princess Auto. I heated each section for 5 minutes, so 20 minutes in total. After I heated it I'd move the blocks of wood closer to the bindings. did that like 4 times and voila

I'd imagine you could. They're foam core aren't they so that would probably make them even better for it

Thats a lot of fucking rocker. Hope they work out. Just so you guys know though, there isn't too much point in rockered park skis unless they are soft. If you can hardly butter the ski to begin with you are going to be able to get it up over the rocker point afterwards, making them useless. Stiff rockered skis are wicked in pow, but useless everywhere else. Soft rockered skis would be much more versitile.

theres the nose of the tms i bent, the flex now is super soft and witha butter area like the invaders, for sale too

why not experiment? we're hardly ruining the skis seeing as how theyre probably already broken in and worn.

the worst thing that can happen is we can butter easier.

i def agree, but at the same time, if they are softening up from heating them, then thats even better. the results people are getting are awesome, we have a pair for two year old silencers sitting at my shop that someone never picked up, so maybe theyll let me try it with them...
