Possible to make a normal ski reverse camber/rockered?

So would it be possible to do this to a pair of Madens? I know they have a fir core... so I'm thinking "no"... but, input?

i think with enough force, pressure and time, any skis could become rockered - except maybe incredibly stiff race skis

Some of you might be interested: a very well known Rossi pro tried to reverse-camber a pair of team B4s at my shop in Whistler last year. We left them weighted in the hot box for a few days and absolutely nothing happened. We reckoned there was too much metal in there. But if big names are trying this out to experiment, there must be some use for it.

If this is the pro I think it is, he ended up getting it done, but with a pair of this years Squads...

...and alot more force...

don't you have to heat them a little - aren't skis meant to return back to their regular camber?...

those just bent skiing one day and they stayed like that but now i am bending them more using andrewt's method and it seems to be working after like a day.

possibly because of the foam core? Wood would have some flex to it, adn able to mould with the heat, im not sure about the properties of the foam...

update: the tips of my fujatives now have about a half inch of rocker each and the tails are just bent a few milimeters

I have given up on these. THeya re just flat now. Howeverm Im boying some sprayer BC's for cheap, so I'm going to heat those and make them reverse camber.

Ahhhhh i need to get back up to school so i can start working on my BCs....

Ill try what AndrewT did... and ill post pics and shit for ppl that have been PMing me as soon as I get some progress, in a week or two.

i seriously doubt that itll last that long. skis are made to have regular camber and after season of skiing they get pretty close to flat.. if you bend them the other way its going to streaching it the opposite of how they were made to be and theyre going to end up flat.

such a negitive nancy

i cant wait to hear how some of them work to see if i would want to try it

im trying it with my old pe's, ive been using the andrew t method for a few days now but i have to start heating it with a heat gun tonight

negative-nancys just kill me...such a downer-debbie. obviously whatever material that was used for the core didnt ahve camber before it became a ski, so if a ski can be pressed to have camber and last a few years, then its possible to heat and press a ski to have reverse camber and last a while. all probably depends on how long you leave them in the andrewT method, and how many times you heat them. just a little input to those doing the project: i would say once you reach the point where they are reverse camber-ed enough, just leave them being pressed to that point for a week or so with heating however often you want. just makesure you leave them being pressed for as long as possible even if it isnt making them more reverse cambered.
