Posers

youre not that good, youre not allowed to buy cool clothes and skis!

its dumb, i like kids who ski regardless of what theyre wearing/acting like/skiing on. unless theyre obnoxious douchebags, then ill throw snowballs at them.

me personally, the last ski outfit i had cost me $11. $9 jeans, a free jacket from 1971, a $2 hat. it was killer.

but you know the skis are quality

i ahve the same bindings. thats the real way to tell a poser from a not poser. p18's

i hope you dont think that...because im awful and dress like im ill.... all neon blue ninthward xxl outerwear and other articles of steez

but then there are the kids that you explained who have all good gear and suck but theink they're the siht and that pisses me off

i just hate the kids who dont do anything but they will talk shit on you if you fall or miss a grab another reason why some kids just sit on the side is they are intimidated cause they think everyone good is just a ass hole

This is a super old thread, but I am glad that it came back. How about this season people make a goal to have fun and compliment someone every day who looks like they aren't that good. "Nice stick on that 360 bro. Maybe pop a little more so you don't land backseat next time. Keep it up" Even if he has $1500 worth of equipment on and can barely do a 3 over an 8 foot table :) I can't wait to encourage people this year. (oh yeah, and I am no good :) I am too old to ski now, but I will still venture in the park a bit and throw a 3 on the hip :P

mostly were ppl actually to do what they've been saying in the thread that would be pretty sick - giving newbie's advice when they're really trying in the park but are having trouble grinding a rail or stomping basic tricks - ill be pretty stoked on the day that im good enough to where i can give kids pointers when they're have trouble

so really give it a try next season - if you see a 'poser' trying hard but not able to land his tricks talk to him and help him out - just like you get stoked from stomping your new trick its a damn good feeling to see some kid who's not very good able to stomp his trick because of the advice you gave him

jea... i totally agree with all the statments on this thread.... for example in HS i joined the HS race team so i could get out during the week on the hill and ski...even though i had to race it got me out twice a week during school... a few guys on the team were in same sit. and just liked to ski park and wanted to get out so we would just skip prac and go ski park and then on a race night inbetween a race we went and rode park and some guys were like racers get the fuck outta the park... and then we throw down a 270 on and backflip and there ah... shit... so i meann just cuz guys dont LOOK like the norm or w/e dont be harsh... like i read in a few post... help some kids out and lets get the sport bigger and keep it growing... just my thought... dont be a dick to kids that arnt as good as you....unless he thinks he is hott shit is a totally asshole

jea i agree man

i aint that great but i worked all summer to get my new setup for this year

i just want to have fun a get better every year

hey man.. quick question about the ski racing... how many nights a week do you go down to the moutanin? does the school just bring you down? and does it go on the weekends too?

just an idea, but maybe this should become a sticky. (hint hint mods) the woorld needs more nice (and true) stuff like this said. that way, all nubes can be brainwashed into "not dicks"

hey, just answerin ur ? bout the racing... um at our school thursdays we would have practice and it pretty much was like take a bus 30 mins away and "have practice" we would just go ride park and take 1 run in the gates on our twins.. haha with no edges or anyting.. try to make a slalom run on ur shitty twins.. hahaha but then we would leave from school bout 4 right after school and then get back ot the scholl at like 9ish so we would ski thursday and then monday same thing we would have a race... and this was our ski season.. but i would go other days on the week by myself and then weekends i went up on my own with my car.. but it was 2 free nights to get out on the hill for cheap...

ya high school ski/ snowboard teams altho they tend to be racing do get you up to tthe mountain a bunch, especially rite after school - last year i was able to get some free rides up w/ my snowboard team and since i couldnt drive back then it was a pretty good deal

the only thing i hate is when people talk shit and when instructers bring a group of 15 4 year olds into the park.

i agree man... we all ride two planks... encourage one another whether the dude be throwing cork tens or trying to land his first three

have fun and most of all, make sure others are just as stoked as you are to be skiing!

sorry if thats a lil afternoon speacial... im just a lil bit drunk, but i think i've made my point

i saw this one faggot group of kids at one of the sessions at windells... thats the only kinda shit that bothers me. All of them had the newest armadas, 9thwards or tms, oakley head to toe and would just sit on the ground on the side of the kiddie park just watching, eating lunch and pertending to be dope skiers. The thing is i could already tell they sucked just seeing them in the lodge. That xl oakley can increase your style but it wont hide the fact your a pussy and wont hit anything or dont know how to. Just actually try shit, go skiing have fun and its all good no one cares what your wearing

i got tons of advice from people that i found out were on here when i started freeskiing, you would be suprised it really helped i got way better

My best friend was made out of the straight fact that he was one of the only twin-tippers at my hill.

It was a given that if there was another twin-tip skier, you would ski together and be chill with each other, regardless of how good each of you may be.

I give advice to kids. I suck at skiing compared to many, but if I see a kid struggling with a 3, or with a flat-box slide, I'll toss him some simple advice that helped me. Seeing the kid get it and get stoked is a solid reward. it gets you stoked.

I am glad to see that the general consensus is that we need to be more friendly to our fellow skiers, and I hope that happens on the hills this year.

watch the start of the new offtrail movie, blake spends 2 minutes explaining why he is the ultamite poser

you dont like my skiing because im wearing tight pants and im artsy (clip out to haggard 3 on 15 foot stepdown)

i know its gonna get so much worse next year.

I don't think their is such this as a poser anymore. Preps wear skate shoes now... Haha that has nothing to do with this thread though!
