Please allow me to properly introduce myself

Thanks for asking. Actually I worked for 18 years as a dental hygienist, and If I was still working, I would love the opportunity to clean your dirty mouth out. Now I'm very grateful to be able to stay at home and raise my 3 kids and maintain my house and yard. I work to hard in my yard to have my nails done, and that is also what keeps me in shape.....not a health club.

I thought I'd let you know as a "proper" member of NS, it is expected that you wear a T shirt made for a very large man. (Tall T in ski slang)

It is also expected that you listen to Gangsta beats on your ipod (you must own an ipod)

example:
http://www.imeem.com/hiphopmusic2/music/cg1hbKw3/fabolous-yep-im-back/

Optional but recommended items include Oakley crowbars, and Full tilt ski boots.

I tried very hard to write this without this ski slang you speak of.

OH DAMN!!!!!!!

And yeah, welcome to NS. This is why we don't do our homework, it's like an abyss that drags you in and distorts time and space creating a timeless vortex that only ends when it is impossible to finish your work in time.

Haha...well I'm only 5'0'' so I'll drownd in the shirt. Is it a White T? You know my ipod is full of rap music.I've got my light rap/R&B playlist, my gangsta rap playlist and my skier rap playlist which is a combination of my favorite rap tunes.I know it sounds strange for a women my age to like that stuff, but it truely is my favorite genra of music....aside from my very favorite band of all time Green Day who I'll be following this summer on tour. I think thats part of why my boys and their friends like me so much, I'm not like most moms as you can clearly see. I like the trends and music of TODAY's generation.Keeps me young at heart

MARY. If there's only one thing you do while on NS, you should join the Ladies Men cult. We desperately need an older woman's perspective. I know, for instance, that somebody (can't remember who) made a thread about how to pick up a cougar. One reply from you, and /thread.
Seems like papasteeze is startin to feel the papasqueeze on his over-the-hill-steeze.

I guess even back then you can call me

CEO of the R O C Hov!

Fresh out the fryin pan into the fire

I be the music biz number one supplier

Flyer/flier than a piece of paper bearin my name

Got the hottest chick in the game wearin my chain, that's right

Hov OH - not D.O.C.

thats what i thought too.

Yes, I'm finding out there alot of very nice people on the forum, now that I'm past my innitial hazing lol! I just re-read the "Even moms like Tom Wallis" thread, and now that the innitial shock has worn off, I am able to see SOME of the humor in it. I certainly learned some new terms I wasn't aware of. The only cougar I ever heard of was of the feline category. I feel so stupid cause when I read some guys post over on FB about going cougar hunting, I really thought he meant he was going hunting.....for big game cats. Silly me. Goes to show your never to old to learn some new tricks, or urban terminology.

Thanks to all for the nice welcome!

mary keep yo shit steezy,(style+ease)

and fuck the haters, ns is filled with prepubescent young males who love flaming every thread on here

but dont get turned down by all that and you NEED to get in ladies men, your input would be so dope

this is a prime example of immature, douche bags that act like they are 8.

riley is 16 and manages to be the biggest douche bag ive ever skied with/met

Yeah, I bought my kids season passes for next season. I may see if there is such a thing as an older folks slolom team or something like that for me,since I don't work outside the home, I'd like to get back skiing more often. I think I'm too old freestyle, but I sure wish I could. The pros, and amatuers, make it look so effortless and fun! I took some jumps last winter out at Buck, and came down wrong in an attempt to avoid a boarder, and my knee is still sore 3 months later. Things don't heal like they used to :(

I never really liked any of Buck's jumps... they never seem to flow right and they're always glare ice. Not to mention the pack of grom boarders always sitting on rails, landings, boxes, everything.

I like your thinking. It couldn't have been my fault I fell!! God it was awful tho, I could hear my knee pop,and it just caved when I stood up. I've never had that feeling before. I went straight to Tria orthopedic.Luckily it was just a sprained knee and not any ligament damage. I was back skiing 2 weeks later!

What's up is I'm spending wayyyy too much time on the computer now that I've added NS's to my list of haunts. I get addicted to this stuff you know what I mean. I see I've gained the reputaion of MOM on NS's. Well thats is far more appropriate than milf of NS's isn't it lol!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, and I want to apologize for my innitial anger I expressed towards some of you in the beginning when I was a caught off guard. I can clearly see this site is full of really nice people who know how to have fun, and I usually have a sick sense of humor myself. Skiers just want to have fun right........RIGHT!

I'm afraid so.....hahaha. I guess I just couldn't stay away. You guys are all so nice.....I'm flattered to be welcomed into this young person's forum. I could learn alot from you all!! I just read this on the "Green Day Authority's" site and its the code that I live by...."The day you become old is the day you're not looking for new experiences anymore" Billie Joe Armstrong. Think I'll go put that in my sig. too.

ive been waiting for that post. if i had titled this thread, i certainly would've quoted Jay-Z.
Anyways, from my observations older skier trying to learn in the park don't fair to well on jumps at first. Just ski around in the park kinda, practice skiing over the kuckles of the landings and getting a little air, go faster and faster, etc. just get used to the way transitions feel, it'll make landing an actual jump a lot easier and more comfortable when you start doing it.
Also maybe try a little box. They might look scary, but a box that's nice and low doesn't really have that much risk. Probably one that's really wide so you can 50/50 it and stuff first. it'll help your balance a lot, and your overall skiing as well.
slalom is just turning when someone tells you to, where's the fun in that?

you should donate to the site...
go to home>store>contributor status. you'll learn that you want to give back to a site that has given so much to you...:)
oh wait this is sort of akward talking to someone who's older than my mom, ha, w/e.

I just watched 'The Massive' again and MaryO, you are just like the woman at the start of the movie. you even look like her, ha, epic. keep up the good work, you may star with T-Hall one day.
