PK Hunter takes the London Freeze Dumont gets 2nd

OMG i could watch pk's dub cork for the rest of my life and still be super impressed every time!!!!! sooo sick

Why is it that so many people repeatedly fail to notice (this isn't the first comp I've where I've noticed this) that it's PK Hunder not Hunter or is this like PK Hunder's evil twin who's also wicked good at double corks?

^well I'm glad you've got it straight, alls I know is if I was him and people were giving some Hunter fellow all the accolades I'd be all kinds of pissed off

people do have a way of anglicizing names and words which is quite annoying. It could just be the same kind of sarcasm as Wallisch being called Walnortz or Kenworthy Kentworthy, but probably not.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHooollllly SHIT!!!! PK's DUB was soooo fucking insane. So delayed and laid out. WOW.

PK's Dub cork 10 is THE stylist trick I have seen in a while...straight killing it

dumonts still not on his pro-model ski yet huh?

Looked like a really sick event.Did Tanner compete or did he decide to just MC.

double corks are soo hawt right now! seriously pk killed it an dumont was sick too, I'm glad he's competing in events like these i thought it was kinda funny he didnt wanna be known as just a halfpipe skier.

No Tanner didnt compete, was the main judge tho. It was kinda disappointing as all the event flyers etc.. publiced him to make it seem like he would compete. I did get to stand next to him on the judging level tho so i wasnt too bothered. It was a fuking sick day btw.

umm yeah, i think most people know it's hunderi thought abma's name was amba though, i said it that way until i saw his name in huge letters in freeskier once

Freeze was a fun event and certainly a good effort for London's 1st try. PK definately deserved the win too, he was an absolute machine. BUT....

a couple of things left a slightly bad taste in the mouth:

1) £30 for a ticket, wf? (Thats like $60). I'm glad I went, but seriously that is far too much. Maybe if they had advertised it better, more people would have come and it coulda been cheaper. Not to mention having it on at the same time as Metro was retarded.

2) One hit wonders? Each heat EVEN THE FINAL was one hot per rider. All that meant was that every rider basically threw the same trick every round which sucked. Why not have it like freestyle.ch and have at least 1 style trick and one tech trick?

3) The Dumont Effect... I knew this would happen and lo and behold it did. Simon threw the same 10 mute that he has been doing for years every single heat, except in the final where he threw a double front. he couldn't have looked less stoked to be there, hardly ever smiled and looked as if he just wanted the money. On at least 2 occasions his opponent got fucked by THE DUMONT effect. One heat in particular stands out: Dumont threw his stock 10 mute, smooth but the same trick you've seen him throw a million times. Fabio Studer throws the dopest sw cork 7 with the styliest grab i have ever seen, kinda a ridiculously tweked nose-kang and his cork was insane. what's more he basically landed in the crowd and stomped the piss out of it. surprise surprise dumont goes through :

(even with tanner, loubek etc judging...weak)

4) TANNER... where were you man, other than at the top of the fucking event flyer?

K, i really rambled there, but hopefully they change it next year so what was still a cool event can be an awesome one. p.s. the live music sucked balls.

That double that PK does is the sickest trick that's being done by anyone right now!!! ...and nice work Richie, 9 was dope!

for the past couple years ive always enjoyed watching simon in the winter x games pipe more then T-hall because it always seemed like he was just out killin it for fun and givin the crowd what they want and Tanner seemed like he was cocky guy who was just there for the gold. but now it seems like Simons got an attitude thats all about him and Tanners the one out rippin for himself...idk but thats just my observation

Yeah the price was a bit of a pain in the arse, with sponsors like L.G.

and channel 4 i didnt think theyd need to pummel the paying customer

for profit.. and ye i guess they could have had a style run aswell but

i think time constraints were already pretty tight, the comp seemed to

go on all day, and to be fair i never really got bored, a super strong

list of skiers, and some fucking sick tricks been thrown, the kicker

also seemed pretty good (if not a little flat) for a city comp.

I was also complaining about the Dumont effect through out, i don't

know whats going on there. I dont see how his double front can score

highly at these competitions, still good to see though.

and id like to clear up that tanner was injured, i think hes hurt his

heel. I'm also happy to say i got the opportunity to talk to him

backstage, and he signed a piece of paper for my mates lil bro to wish

him happy birthday etc., seemed like a really good guy. didn't seem to

be any attitude around him at all, which when your as sick as him is

refreshing to see.

Also i dont think people realise how fucking insane dropping in switch

is on that thing haha, the barriers at the sides of the drop in looked

to be about hip height?? Thank god no one fell on the drop in, but itd

b easy enough to do and anyone who crashed into the barriers and went

over would have been dead.

however all in all, a damn sick event.

Yo the evet cost 1.5 mill to host, there losing money this year with the aim to make some next 2 years, cypress hill raped the budget factttt,

Best of brittish tomorrow, wut wuuuut if the snow holds out, its raining prettybad.

Had to go to this, once in a lifetime oportunity to see these guys in London, in general it was a pretty sick event, with a bit of Richard Permin style tweaking it would have been off the wall. Dumont was pretty lame tho, he obviously didnt want to be there, but once he was there whats wrong with looking stoked and getting the crowd up for it????

will it happen again next year? probably not in Battersea but maybe somewhere else, Hype park would be ideal but seriously expensive.

Anyone know how the snowboarding went down? Battersea must have been a bitch to get to as the Victoria Line was down.
