To post a real response to your extreme ignorance or to let this thread be.......
"lol not knowing the definition of addiction
lol comparing weed to food
lol at horrible attempts to defer my opinion."
I see that as a challenge/ being a cocky noob.
Where to start.
alcohol and marijuana aren't the same. let's legalize heroin.
Yes you are right about that. Marijuana and alcohol are not the same, that's fucking obvious though. But both SHOULD be legal. As far as your statements about heroin, yes HEROIN SHOULD BE LEGAL TOO. We can go down the route of personal choice but it's quite plausible you would just say blah blah they don't have the right blah blah.
Instead venture down the road of prohibition. Prohibition is an absolute failure. prohibition hasn't work, it doesn't work. Prohibition fails on so many levels it's ridiculous.
Prohibition failed with alcohol. The booze didn't disappear, it just made the people drinking criminals. It also brought in organized crime to try and get a piece of the money that was now out there to be made.
The big pharmy companies don't want drugs to be legal. They don't want people to be able to medicate themselves. They would loose a shit ton of money if drugs became legal.
You could smoke weed for 10-20 a gram(which would be vastly lower if legal) or you could pay up the ass for something like marinol. You can't use heroin but you can pay up the ass for oxy's. Don't even try to pull the "pharmaceuticals aren't really drugs deal" That mentality is so fucking ignorant on so many levels.
The money that is generated in the black market sector by our failed prohibition policy is funneled into organized crime networks. Where would the cartels get there money without drug sales. How would gangs be able to afford guns without the ability to sell drugs on the street. If you legalize it, it takes the $ out of the equation. Instead that money through taxation could be used to get us out of this economic shit storm we find ourselves in.
Give me your best reasons for keeping the drug war as is. I'd love to hear them.

"i think the reasons pot should stay illegal are obvious
you smoke why? to get high.
do you necessarily drink to get drunk? no."
I smoked all through highschool. When i was at school i didn't smoke to get high. It helped me focus better than any pill they prescribed could. I smoked after school because that worked better than the depression meds they gave me.
A lot of people smoke to relax, same as many people drink.
As far as smoking to get high, which most people do. What the fuck is wrong with that. WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY CAN AND CAN'T DO WITH THEIR OWN BODY. Does it hurt you in anyway if I smoke a bowl?
"when you drink to get drunk, every time, you're an addict. when you smoke pot to get high every time, i think that makes you an addict too. inb4 shit storm and thread deletion. "
When you post ignorant shit all the time you're an idiot.

"problem today being, corruption, so if you let a power do what it wants, and virtually tell yourself your opinions don't matter, and you are powerless, then you basically kiss your rights goodbye. i believe care2. and i do see a lot of progress because of it. whether it's the petitions, or just the activists themselves, shit does change. i'm not prepared to believe every single thing i read there is bullshit propaganda. that's just excessive."
what about corruption and rights? You're saying you don't have the right to do what you want with your own body. The government SHOULD NOT BE A FUCKING BABYSITTER. I put this in the same boat as the seatbelt law. It disgusts me that the government is telling me that I have to wear a seatbelt. If something happens it's all on me, nobody else is getting hurt. We need to stop this babysitter style government. We need to get government out of areas where it doesn't belong. big government has a history of fucking things up. In this era with our economy in such a shit spot, you'd think we could agree to scale back a little. that's a whole different issue though.
It seems everything you "know" about the drug war is heavily influenced by propaganda.
Really didn't go over any of this. If you don't get thew point, let me know what the problem is. I'd love to hear you try to argue how the drug war is a success, or that all drugs should remain illegal.
I know this is a waste in a thread like this but it almost hurts me to see such ignorance. We need some sort of renaissance of thought. Bring back independent thinking. Do something at some point to try to at least scale down the ignorance that has taken such a strong grasp on the good old us of a.
