Splitting hairs? Yeah you're right, a back flip is so much like a misty... like I can't even tell half the time the difference between the two! Who cares, right? It only makes our sport less legit... what harm could that do?
 
yes it's splitting hairs because a misty, especially a double misty, can have its later part look a lot like a switch backflip. it's still part of the misty rotation, it just doesnt happen to have much rotation going on at that point. havent you ever done a double misty 9 into the pool? what does the end look like....?

what would you prefer he calls this? 180 to double backflip off rail? come on

This is just bad man. Obviously a double misty 810 or whatever the fuck you want to call it is going to look different than a SWITCH double misty 14. Go compare a switch double cork nine and a forward dub 16 and tell me they look the same you dipshit.
 
right but there is a such thing as double misty 9, and the last part of the rotation is usually almost a straight flip

seriously, what would you call it instead? we're not gonna start saying things like misty to backflip are we?
 
Unless you want to make up a name for it like Jon Olson... otherwise you call tricks for what they are, not what they kind of look like. It's not that fucking hard.

 
Hahaha, a fucking backflip is still a backflip regardless if you're doing it switch or regular... much like how a 540 is still a fucking 540 if you take off forwards or backwards.

That's a tad different than calling a backflip a misty but you kids are too stupid to tell the difference, apparently.

But hey, let's keep on mis-labeling tricks. It's a good habit to get into. Maybe one day you'll be so good at it you can join Uncle-E and Mike Douglas announcing the X-Games while the ski community collectively cringes at how poorly skiing is being represented.

i think when you say "otherwise you call tricks for what they are, not what they kind of look like" you have it backward. i think PC's trick IS a dub misty that happens to look kind of like a backflip or two
 
well, not really... a 5, or a misty etc look the same whether you take off forward or backward because our naming system holds up there

not true for a backie though-- when you do a switch backflip the flipping direction is the same as a regular front (downhill), and vice versa

so when you say that this trick is a double backflip it's def wrong: it's flipping downhill

you could say 180 to dub back i guess, but like i said that's way too hair splitting and long, right?

If labeling tricks is important to you then getting a backflip and a switch backflip confused is unforgivable - it's quite a major and really fucking obvious difference and if some other noob mixed it up you'd be the first douchebag to tear them apart for it.

Either way I'm starting to think that even you can't be as retarded as you're being in this thread, you're just trolling because you have nothing better to do with your life.
