Overdoing steeze

I'm feeling like kids are trying too hard to be steezy nowadayz. I mean it's reall good to look relaxed when skiing but I find it funny to see kids going onto a jump with a stance jump land and then pose in a stance that is clearly not the stance they would be having if they had something else to hit afertward.

I'm feeling like kids are trying hard to look like they arent trying and it end up not looking that natural.

haha i wonder what sparked this...

but i know what you are saying however i do enjoy a steeezeee ride away

steeze shouldnt be something you have to try to do, you, the skier should make your own steeze by styling stuff the way you can and want, not by copying others.

i'm pretty sure brogan doesn't try to do that i think it's just natural i say this because after skiing and watching him for 2 years it's the same every time he lands not just one of those things he tries to do

yea thats exacly right, every skier should have his own style, i hate it when ppl try to have a style of another skier like wallisch. its just unatural, and it doesnt make you stand out to anyone

yea clarke steeze is not forced at all he just land andsty in the same bdy position afterward. if you look at most of his stuff on slow mow, there is little or no difference between the last 5 frames before he touch the ground and the 5 frames after he did land.

I think a lot of kids are making it unnatrually looking by cahnging their stance after the landing to look steezy instead of just riding away.

If you look at lets say jon brogna caus e he's getting in the ns mainstream a lot lately. the way he lands out of rails is just insane you can see he's not trying hard to be steezy on his landings while on some of his jumps form the thug edit you can clearly see him switch stance after landing to get in that steezy ride away stance. What tickles me about it is how his landing stance already looked pretty damn fine and looked like he could go hit something else and dont see why he would want to switch back to that steezy stance that dosnt look at all like the stance he have wehn he goes into a jump.

I dont think it's bad, I just fail to understand why kids are doing it.

Brogan is being used as an example and dont get me wrong on this, i believe he salys hardcore. I,m not trying to say he's emulating anyone but I do see a lot of kids trying to emulate that style.

Because they want to? Since when has anyone had to have a good reason for doing something? And why do you have to understand?

o well i guess your right, sorry, I'm not going to try understanding human nature anymore.

I just think it's funny when you see no established pros are doing that oversteeze thing except vanular in lss.

I have yet to see anyone do a complete park run with multiple hits skiing around like that so I tought hey why not ask the newschoolescommunity about it.

I watch plenty of kids hit multiple features in a row riding away, you don't have to be in perfect stance right after you land all the way into a jump.

damn im sorry for sounding like a dick but no, steeze is style with ease, making shit look steezy isnt a type of style, or atleast i dont think, its your style making it look easy, a style can be steezy or it can be something else crazy, its what makes skiing different from snowboarding IMO, but back to the thread, i dont understand how kids are overdoing it, i can totaly see kids trying to go against their style to be like tom wallisch which is kinda lame cus its really obvious who has it and who doesnt.

yea u gotta love a steezy ride away but there is a line to draw i think. i duno where that line should be cuz i think even when slightly exaggerated they are still sick haha. hornbecks get a little out of hand perhaps but most are pretty steezy still.

I see that kid ski every weekend, and I swear to god it's natural for him. He wouldn't be able to do it so consistently and well if it wasn't. Straight up, the kid just rides like that.

damn right hornbeck is the perfect example that I needed

http://youtube.com/watch?v=__sRhJRXdzc

check this vid and look at how he lands during the rythm section. Stomps the sht out of the jump hands on the side, super stable and looking picture perfect and ride away going to the next jump in the same stance he had going into the first jump.

I think that look pretty dope to see he stomped the shit out of his trick and ready to slay whatever you put on his way.

I think that look so much better when you just stomp and dont have to move to look good then stomping and then changing your stance to make it look steezy with your hand dragging behind you.

word his steez is sick in that video but in some of last years movies his afterbang was pretty ridiculous like stomp to one side then steez stomp to the other side with his upper body haha.

yea i thought that brogan edit looked really forced too, but watever. kid still kills it, but it seemed overdone.

dude brogan is dope. I used him as a reference since it clearly looked like what I wanted people to look at.

I'm not saying it's bad I'm just saying it's there and wanted to see peoples opinion on it.

thansk for being an ass to me again It's appreciated.

hahahahahaha, how is that real steeze?

"style" in skiing is so fucked up.

Style does not mean you dont flail and you hold a grab for a long time - thats just doing the trick properly and knowing how to do a trick.

Style is something where no matter what your doing, whether you flail or dont have a perfect body position you still look good in the air, or on rails.

haha or do sets on tricks. I love people who love Jon ollsons misty 9s, with the nice big water ramp set, arm up ready to pump that trick down like no other. Look at the x games footy, at rainvilles misty 7. Amazing how he can do it with no set and come around perfectly.

Im going to get bashed, but style in skiing is so caught up in the freestyle sense where a trick is "super sick" if they justt grab for a long time and stomp.

Example : Andreas Haviets switch 10 nose mutes.
He stomps the trick, holds the grab, but then does nothing orginal to make the trick look smooth or unique. Its just a straight up and down spin fast 10.

MUCH LOVE XOXOXOXOX KISSES

I'm with the above...as much as I enjoyed Ced's stuff in LSS, I think he needs to start realizing he's already hit the top of his hill and is starting to ski down

exactly my point,

I'm not saying it's steeze I,m just saying I think that look pretty much amazing and that it dosnt even look like he's trying.

style, everyone has there own, that why our sport is cool, ced may be tired of seeing everyone try to have the same style instead of their own? yes , no, maybe?

and the answer will be revealed at teh end of the next episode of ced try to make a point while a bunch of kids says he sucks at skiing....

or right now..

yes

and you are hating because cedric made this post ... you would probably have said nothin if he wasnt the creator what ever

haha take it easy. Injuries suck, and they fuck you up.

But, I just think newschoolers is funny. I almost laugh at anyone who rides with a NS sticker on their helmet. It kinda like "hey, look at me, im a complete gaper"

So many kids grow up on this site and their perceptions of whats cool and what isnt are so skewed and warped about what should be happening in the ski world, and what isn't legit and what is.

Homework for tonight kids! watch a skateboarding movie or snowboarding movie and look at how much cooler they are. Now realize why you get flamed when you go to Silverstar and go

HI IM FROM NS WHATS UR USERNAME, WANNA RYDE???

hahahha.

exactly what i think, first mad that curtis won the booters contest, now oversteeze, clearly refereing to brogan. leave ns for the afternoon ced, maybe u wont be so emo tomarow "

sorry dude I was more refering to this one

Anyone saying that Ced skiing is going down have no idea of what they are talking. pirate still killing it more than ever

its ok , we all know u can ski, and u do it ur own way. but tryin to make a point on here is like trying to tell the westboro church that gays are cool

i respect ced. although we had a bit of a querral in our last thread. he says exactly what he thinks and im sure its what some of you are thinking to you just dont quite have the nuts. i dont like when people change there ride away stance either it looks unnatural most the time.

i respect your opinion but i agree to disagree on the brogan example. i love that shit.

gimme another example to take a look at.......
