I know this Isn't what you want to hear right now, but while this season seems like the world, its really a small thing.
My father was getting heavily recruited to play soccer at Brown his junior year in high school; the coach seemed poised to extend him an offer. In his lacrosse season of that same year however, things went terribly wrong. At the midfield line, catching an over the shoulder pass, my dad got clipped low and blindside, snapping his femur.
His spring and summer were spent in a cast that reached from his ankle to his belly button; 4 months of zero activity. His soccer season was a total bust, he couldn't even play, and Brown vanished like the wind.
Now its not all a bad story. While the injury cheapened his high school experience it taught him valuable lessons about perseverance, and will power. My father has gone on to be a VERY successful business man, and a lot of his success he attributes to the drive and mental fortitude that cruel experience forged in him. He got to eat his redemption cake too, becoming an All-American in D3 ball.
I know this sucks. I'm sure its hard. But remember that sports are things that most of us do for fun, and their absence from our lives unfortunate but not unbearable.
Who knows maybe some good will come of this. I do believe the once rising high school senior and starting quarterback Josh Hartnett was sidelined due to injury for senior football season. The dudes rollin heavy in mad Hollywood cash slayin hot girls at will. Choose whether you want to "ACT" or "REACT" to your realty, it will make all the difference.
