When's your mtn do to open? I live in CO so it's always a race between Loveland and A-Basin in October? How bout y'all?

yes i live in CO., I know the comp betweem A-bay and Luv every year. You trying to look smart or angry?

unofficial opening of wild mountain mn last year was mid-late october, hopefully that happens this year.

wut. i'm just flaunting that i'll be among the first to ski this season in an intendedly friendly manner

Just curious on different areas... and when they open. I'm lookimg to ski with fans not angry ones;;;

My local place is Wachusett, so T-day weekend most likely.

Sunday River on the other hand could be as early as mid October. They are going to be open on Halloween for sure, even if it's just for a day.

wachusett mtn. sometime in early december, mayyyybe thanksgiving but ill be doing a bunch of rail jams and such before that

Unless we get snow sooner.

The October 16th opening a few years back was bliss. Last year I hiked Smugglers October 4th..thought it was going to be an early opening then too. Here's hoping for this year!

Sunday River may open in mid October, and if not a few mountains should be open by Halloween, but mountains in MA should open around Thanksgiving.

this is the most stupid thread. Mountains can't possibly determine when they will open because it all has to do when the snow starts falling.. which could be never again, or could be tomorrow afternoon.

probably not until around christmas. talking about toggenburg mountain in CNY. last year it was Dec 23rd. east coast sucks

you realize this is a skiing forum where 85% of the kids hate summer.....including me.

but hopefully mid to late november for Stowe.

This local mtn about 2 hours away from me, Trollhaugen, opened like October 27 last year. had a few rails and stuff. It was super fun. hoping it'll open that early this year, and last year was a shitty season!

its not summer everywhere..

last week it was 70s, this week is 60s, next week forecasting low 60s and high 50s as highs.. lows around 40-35

Hope for a cool winter in SoCal then. The weather down there has a huge impact on Mammoth's tourism, maybe even more so than Mammoth's own marketing. Since the majority of the tourism is from LA/OC/SD, if it's warm down there, they aren't thinking of snow. If it rains down there and it's at all chilly, that's when Mammoth does well.

That being said, the temps have been dipping into the 30's. The temps are already doing better than they were last year at this time. Even if we only got as much snow as last year, if the temps stayed down, we'd still be fine. Last year it was the warm weather that killed us.

I want one 78 degree day once I'm back to go cliff jumping and then I want every other day to be nice and cold until May.

Last year Mont Saint-Sauveur opened on october 30, but there was only one slope open and a park that sucked for like a month and a half and the park at Avila was fully finished by end of january. Hopefully this winter we'll have snow.
