Too bad sierra is DAYS from unr.... might just buy boreal college and say fuck it at squaw/alpine

Are you saying sierra is closer to sac? Cause id definitely agree with that, my uncle makes it up from eldorado hills in like an hour i think? No idea how much longer/shorter that is for boreal

than Reno? Yeah, probably.

I mean, it takes me only 20 mins to get to Cameron Park and start rolling up the hill. If there's sparse traffic around kyburz, like midweek in the morning or something, 50's a friggin breeze.
 
Hey Tahoe,

I just got a job at Northstar for the winter. I live in North Idaho. I need a place to live starting the first of November through mid-April at least..maybe I'll stay if I like it there. If anyone has a room or wants to go in on something pm me. I can't make it down there til November because of work up here. I figured I'd try Newschoolers before Craigslist. Also I need friends hahaha, I want to see what Tahoe is all about, plus ski every day. Lots of pow and a little bit of park. Let's go touring. And I have a bungee. Plus I'll be good on rent and bills.
 
Sierra is definitely closer to Sacramento than Reno. I can drive from Folsom to Sierra in an hour and a half easy.
 
Yoooooooo Tahoe! UNR winter sports club is having a meeting tomorrow (9/10) at 6 pm in the Ansari Business building in room 106. Its a big lecture hall. Graham will be going over social vs competition team and dues associated with those teams and a lot more. If you have facebook check out the club, UNR Winter Sports club. i almost did that last year, one question.

how often is there meetups and stuff. like is it a pretty casual thing or what? it just seems like its all winter sports club, idk im lost

I almost did it last year too but lack of snow was a huge issue for them. There's two sides of the team; Competition and Social. Comp team pays higher dues and competes throughout the season in halfpipe, slope, and i guess there are rail jams? The way graham made it sound was that basically if you go to all the comps you'll go to regionals at Mammoth. Oh and side note the team has its own keg....

i feel like id only be into the social, i go to mamoth all the time (i get passes there as an independant worker). do you know what mountain(s) they go to? sorry im asking a lot but i work so i cant make the meeting

They get a discounted squaw pass for $300 which is nice and sounds like they're gonna try and get the comp team to be at squaw... personally id rather go to alpine or boreal. You got the hook in mammoth, that drive is just a pain in the ass, especially those mono county pigs

haha i have made that drive so many times i dont even mind it anymore. i know exactly where all the cops hide and shit like that.
 
Got pulled over driving to Bear 2 min outside of the volcom park from a cop driving the other way on the freeway because "my windows were too dark".

agh thats shitty, i know a bunch of people from the mammoth area so i hope that if i ever get pulled over there, its someone i know. if you ever want to get into the town of mammoth quicker, take the scenic loop. never anyone back there and it spits you out right above the village.

$50 for social team and $150 for competitive. Includes a discount price on Squaw/Alpine college pass for $350. I honestly don't even think I'm gonna get a pass to anywhere but boreal or if I can score a job at n*

i'm thinking about applying at northstar as well. i want to be on the team but not spend money on a pass because i'm really broke. you know what i mean? haha like i want to get to know people in the skiing community who go to Nevada. but i also don't want to throw down $300 on a pass and $50 on fees.

Yeah i definitely feel ya on that. Sounds like the social team is def up your alley cause they get into all the parties and events and such just like comp members just don't compete. Have you called n* at all yet? I'm curious to see what their part time employment is gonna be like, last year they didn't have any of the weekenders work because of the lack of snow....

Might just get the boreal college pass for 130 and hang out there all season...

Probably not Parker. I'm pretty burnt out of Rose and I figure if I'm gonna work it might as well be at a bigger resort for a free pass. I'm gonna try to apply at northstar or squaw and then i'll ride boreal too.

And neither do I taylor, but thats why I'm gonna get one to get better haha

yeah that makes sense, i have just skied rose for so long because it was so close to my high school. and now i just dont know where to go, im straight up lost haha.
 
Go Boreal and work at another resort too. Just get a pass from working and then you can also work whenever you have extra time for some more money

Go Boreal then. There will be a decent amount of people from here that are going, its super cheap, and even if we don't get a lot of snow this year boreal is fun to go to and bullshit around at
