The replacements are throwing games so the league wil lpay more to the old good refs. so the old good refs will cut these guys in on the profit if they throw a few games.

every scoring play and every turnover is reviewed this year. So the play was reviewed, but according to the announcers, you can't overturn who caught the ball on the play. Also, you can't call penalties during reviews I believe. So there was nothing that anyone could do from the replay after the call on the field was made.
 
Yeah but they're also calling shit that has absolutely no reason to BE a penalty.

Also the refs gave the 49ers five timeouts in the second half against the vikings. Good thing the viks where shitting on their chests. Skol Vikings!
 
They sure as hell know how to call defensive holding. It is all they call. Even if there is no contact the guy held him with his eyes
 
Browner is a fuckin g. You guys see him fuck Jennings up in the 3rd. Might not have been the most legit win ever, but fuck it. Suck a dick packers.
 
I agree, very entertaining indeed. But the problem is the refs are so inconsistent. If they would just not call any illegal contact or any of the defensive holding it would be one thing. But they dont call it one play and then call it the next play. OR they call PI and its actually defensive holding. They just dont know what theyre doing. It sucks because its really not their faults, they aren't trained for this and they probably are doing the best they can. They just suck though.

Id rather see them just not call and be constant than call bullshit penalties because they know they missed a call earlier.

And I have seen more defensive holding/PI/illegal contact in the first 3 weeks than ever before. Those are the calls that are the toughest and thats why players are doing it more.
 
Most PI calls in the first 3 weeks of a season in the past decade and you call that nothing being called? Sorry if by not having calls you mean the vicious hits that go unflagged where players are getting injured ex: oakland game, then yes I would agree with you there. I am all for big hits, but the calls they aren't being called are just straight up cheap shots and overall are ruining the integrity of the game.

But I would agree with you the games have been entertaining simply because of how outrageous and ridiculous the officiating has been.

2. CAR vs ATL = Atl (Cam Newton will have a hard time competing against a hot matt rayan)

3. NE vs BUF = NE (Buffalo has been winning, but against some cupcake teams)

4. MIN vs DET = MIN (Came off strong on a win over SF)

5. SEA vs STL = SEA (They are playing STL, also they looked pretty good against GB with 9 sacks.)

6. SF vs NYJ = SF (The defense will stand out here)

7. TEN vs HOU = Hou (One of the hottest teams right now)

8. OAK vs DEN = OAK (This will be a good game to see how well denvers D and peyton will do for the rest of the season.)

9. MIA vs ARI = ARI (No contest with Miami, the offense and larry are just on fire!)

10. CIN vs JAC = CIN (DOnt know much about this one)

11. NO vs GB = GB (NO looked terrible last game playing my chiefs, and you bet GB will be pissed off and looking for revenge from the MNF game.)

12. WSH vs TB = TB (Hopefully RG3 finds the hiccups thats been plauging this team, also d fense needs to stand up)

13. NYG vs PHIL = NYG (Dont know mucha bout this, seems like an even match)

14. CLE vs BALT = BALT (Do I have to explain?)

15 CHI vs DAL = CHI (Da bears)

hopefully hes right about them being on the field this weekend but mortensen's favorite word is 'could' and I wonder if the deal would have to be done in time for them to ref tomorrow night's game too or if they would just use them for sunday and monday
 
they just need to get around the Pension issue, since many NFL fulltime employees dont even get pensions and giving one to the refs would cause a shitstorm. hopefully theyll just give them some cash and be done with it
 
apparently, YOU CAN REVIEW (i also had it wrong, but the commentators did too) this, when it happens in the endzone.

so the replay official (who is working full time, remember, NOT A REPLACEMENT REF) saw no conclusive evidence to overturn it. people should really cool down a bit.

and fuck the packers players. any respectable QB like brady or manning would stand there after the game and say "didnt make enough plays". comon, you got sacked 8 times in the first half. you think the refs killed you? you guys even fumbled in crunchtime at the own 1 yd line. then you go on and try to intercept (aka pad you stats) a hail mary.

obviously, this call was pretty bad, but by rule, you can (not have to) award a TD for that if you think that both players had the ball at around the same instance. no matter if the other guy has it on his chest or not (look at the cromartie/austin catch last year i mentioned earlier).

really dont think that its a clear TD, just to clarify, people just need to take a step back and remember how big the outcry would be if a good ref would rule this.

people just waited for a gamechanging "obvious" mistake. but in my opinion, this is BY FAR not the worst mistake by a ref this season, especially since a fulltime ref saw no reason to overturn it after review.
 
If the Raiders can keep McFadden going, they stop getting hurt in the secondary and the receiving core, and Palmer keeps playing decent they should win the west. Peyton Manning is good but the rest of the Broncos are not. The Chiefs look decent but not great. The Chargers don't look good to me. If the Condo hadn't gotten hurt and the Raides didn't have to put in the backup longsnapper who hadn't done that since high school they would've won that game
 
that if they have come to an agreement on the number of refs or whether or not the position is full or part time. league wants more, full time officals. refs want the league to have fewer officals working part time. nfl wants more money via improved officiating. refs want to get more money via fighting the only two negotiating factors that would actually have a positive on field affect.

I'd still bet on the league to win but if they don't you can blame the dumbass casual fan.

Replay Official Howard Slavin stopped the game for an instant replay review. The aspects of the play that were reviewable included if the ball hit the ground and who had possession of the ball. In the end zone, a ruling of a simultaneous catch is reviewable. That is not the case in the field of play, only in the end zone.

and thats the issue with the commentators. THEY BUILD the public opinion on so many issues. on who are good teams, good calls and vice versa. just think about how many people now know that the seahawks have a physical secondary? they didnt talk about ANYTHING else on nearly every sack. obviously, football is a team sport and the guys up front cant do it without the guys back there, but shit was hilarious. like a sack after 1 second, rodgers barely has the ball and gruden is in awe "how the coverage forced that sack", "big, physical corners" and so on..

nothing against to you, i also kind of overvalued grudens statement regarding the OPI, thats just how it goes.
 
Somebody do the world a favor and lock Joe Buck and Troy Aikman up. Buck is just awful and Aikman had so many concussions he probably has to remind himself in the booth that he isn't playing anymore between commercial breaks.

Also Dan Fouts is just too old now. He could barely follow the action in the Raider-Steeler game last week
 
All the sports networks just going on and on about the packers/seahawks game is getting really repetitive and annoying. They're acting like this is the first time a team has gotten screwed over by a bad call.
 
Who woud you pick up at the waiver, andre brown or joe flacco? neither is a big need just added points when starters have a bad matchup.
 
When Fitzpatrick actually shows up to play he's one of the best in the league. Hopefully he shows up on Sunday

weeden is kind of growing on me actually. had lots of patience tonight finding guys. had a few throws that should have been caught for tds.
