OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND WINTER 10/11 STORM THREAD

Santa's gonna give you the other white stuff Park. Right in the eyes. Won't even be able to see the snow coming down cause they'll be burning like a motherfucker. You'll be sitting there going "Santa's kinda crazy. BUT I LIKE THAT."

fuck yea! same here... the other map with lines seemed nice... its said 24" like right near where i am hahah

JUST SAW ON CHANNEL 7 NEWS

18-22in in western/central mass. EVEN MORE IN THE HILLY AREA AROUND WACHUSETT MOUNTAIN. OH MY GOD THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PRESENT.

anyone know if white mountaisn is getting anything? channel 7 said 8-12in

if there is any amount of size able snow i would like to ski it while it is still falling in order to keep most of the holiday guests away, i'm planning on heading to Snow for tomorrow and Monday hoping for about 10" or so

Yup. It's going to rage out there.

Have fun out there tomorrow guys. I am stuck at work all day with no way to get out for some turns.

Damn.

10-20 for CT. They are freaking out on the news: "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FOOD AND WATER FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS" pfffff please.

So stoked, although I cannot ski because of my knee.

There aren't a ton in the southen/eastern area but I would suggest Gunstock, Waterville, Loon, maybe Bretton Woods or Cannon. There's Pat's Peak too but it's not really worth it especially when there's a lot of snow.

cannon and bretton woods arent exactly south. waterville and sunapee have some nice steeps and glades. is tenny mtn still open because they had some sick trails and glades

Yeah I know they're not south but I'm saying that they're relatively close.. there's like 2 mountains in the actual south

Who even knows how much we got. The wind just blows it everywhere. I'm gonna say a little over a foot probably in CT.

Mt Snow was beautiful today besides a wind hold and no summit access. I made it up to the summit once and took a run down exhibition, shit was bomb, 2 feet of powder just means you gotta keep the speed up. The wind limited me to Carinthia most of the day though. Running the lift lines was sooo much fun

accuweather is saying snow possible friday night through saturday morning. they cant predict totals yet b?c its still kind of far away

yes whispers of a possible storm sometime this weekend but too far away to tell. As time marches on we will get a better idea.

I made this snow man to appease the snowgods, he happened to be a little bit angry because it was 50 degrees on the 2nd of January. Which also drove him to alcoholism.

Hopefully this late week storm threat pulls through!!

Still tons of uncertainty with the weekend. It will snow, and it will snow from Thursday-Saturday, the part that is in question is whether or not the clipper takes a favorable track when it hits the coast and bombs out giving us moderate-heavy snowfall in VT for the Friday-Saturday time period...

Way too far out to tell... Look at the last storm where there was no consensus and everyone thought she was out to sea until 24 hours before the onset of the storm.

Bad news is that we are runing on zero-base depth on any natural snow trails/woods after the warmth. Hopefully we can get 4-8" out of the clipper today and upslope through tomorrow night to give us something to build on.

If it snows big this weekend, bring the rock skis or stock up on p-tex as you're going to need it...

Yeah, however I am going to hand my hat on the fact that this year has been abysmal for predictability of storms. They are able to see the systems two weeks out, but when it enters into the medium range period where we can traditionally start seeing a track getting relatively nailed down, we have these MASSIVE run to run swings with complete unpredictability until 24-36 hours out.

Last storm was out to sea and had everyone sticking a fork in it with NO snow and then went to winter storm watches and warnings overnight.

TERRIBLE winter to be a meteorologist in the Northeast. Feel bad for them because the general public (Read: Ignorant dumbasses)hang on their every word and will not take a 5-day forecast with a grain of salt.

does it seem like we arent getting any snow this year? I swear each year the snow comes later and later, and thats if it comes at all, fuck this spring like weather so depressing getting my email updates that MRG has shut down the mountain till they get snow again

don't lie man, it needs to hit or else we are going to run out of snow, and i def want to ride some pow so it needs to hit

Might not be a big deal storm, but it may deliver some real nice upslope snows on the backside Sunday-Tuesday with the low retrograding to the west.

Still time for Southern VT to get some snow, but not a massive dump or anything likely.
