Seriously...

Being in the valley between two mountains is the worst place to expect snow. You are essentially sitting in the "rain shadows" of the mountains.

Either way, looks like advisory type snows. Nothing massive, but it should help freshen things up out there and make for some smooth turns tomorrow am.

Don't hit the trees without rock skis and body armor though. There's a lot of nasty debris hiding underneath a layer of dust on blue ice. Got a massive bruise on my right ass-cheek as a reminder.

my thought is that the highest totals will fall on the eastern facing slopes, while most of the western facing slopes will be shadowed. The storm will circulate moderate to heavy bands in a CCW direction from southeast to northwest. Not to mention NWS just brought on the winter storm warning!!

heres what we got on the ground after the last snowfall.

I had a really nice bluebird powder day at Bellayre, plenty of good snow out there

meh, morning was nice then the lifts got packed as usual and the clouds moved in. I swear half the people there work there as well. Woods were a little light, except tomahawk liftline was nice if you ducked the rope.

^ hahahah duck the rope, i jumped right over it to the delight of ski patrolers. yeah and that was really nice until it got found by people who cant ride

I'm praying for this storm to take inch Northwest-ward in it's track...

I'll take anything we can get, but a near miss from the big snows here in VT would be a disappointment.

Winter Storm watches being hoisted now for the The Greens from Pico/Killington southward. The further south you go, the higher the storm totals will be.

We'll see how she tracks and how soon the low can bomb out, but it really is looking like a repeat of 12/26-12/27 with a healthy dose of wind and the heaviest snow falling Wednesday morning.

Have fun storm watching, and I hope you guys can all get after it Wednesday-Thursday...

FUCK YES CT HOLDING IT DOWN!!!!! 8-16 expected tomorrow night, can you say significant powder day #2 in less than a week?

yeah i can't really see how they left that out, doesn't make much sense as major snowfall will occur here, the storm will have a pretty good impact on points south and east of Albany

never thought i would find myself praying for no snow, but fuck this storm. i'm supposed to fly out to colorado on weds morning, and there is now zero chance of that happening now. here's for hoping it's a total bust.

Near miss for Central VT with only 4-8 forecasted. Southern VT is still going to get some, but not a massive dump by any means.

Not feeling the storm track this year. I could care less if it snows 2 feet on Long Island and CT...

Yeah, these coastal storms are really pissing me off. Sugarloaf and the western Maine mountains are only expecting around 4 inches. Can't complain about two feet on 12/26 though.

Not to mention any snow that does fall will be high fluff factor blower. Incredible to ski on once there is a base down, but not what we want when the trees and natural trails are boney thin and very dangerous.

This may sound absurd, but VT/NH & ME need 8"+ of 10:1 max ratio snow to ski properly. 8" of 15:1 is pretty, but decieving.

ya this is stupid. it's snowed more at my house (cape cod) than it has at stowe, with another foot+ predicted tonight and tomorrow. dealing with snow when there's no mountains within at least 2 hours of you sucks majorly.

Yeah, I live in Massachusetts and all this snow is fun for urban, I'd prefer to have more in the mountains

It's a certain 12-18, then they said 15-25. WOOOOOOOOO FUCK YEA CT. Now all this snow needs to follow me back to VT after this weekend.

We have a little over a foot so far in Wallingford, CT. They are calling for 16-24 inches.

^Don't forget that we got over a foot of snow the other day when you measure, unless you are measuring somewhere that was shoveled :)
