I was thinking instead of making a new thread every time a new storm rolls around why not just but all the storm hype this winter into one big thread? so post your predictions, links, models, etc. here

just looked on all the main weather sites and the next storm is christmas. but i dont check maps or radar, just forecasts

listen... all we gotta do is sacrifice like 3 virgin girls to the snow Gods and then good fortune and white gold will rain down on us.

from noaa "THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM SOMETIMESUNDAY INTO MONDAY. CONFIDENCE REMAINS LOW AT THIS TIME...SINCETHIS POTENTIAL EVENT IS STILL NEARLY 4 DAYS AWAY."

European is looking good for sunday/monday but the gfs is sending the storm out to sea. Too far away to tell but potential for a massive storm sunday night/monday

Still not seeing much that gets me excited. Still pretty confident that it is going to be too far offshore to matter to anywhere with actual mountains.

from what i have heard it looks like parts of the white mountains could see over a foot while vermont will get about 4-6 inches

somebody tell me how much BRATTLEBORO VT is supposed to get. Been in Atlanta for the last few days and sorta out of the loop.

ti live in central mass and there saying 10-12, but im going to Cannon all week im hoping they get more....but i think the south is going to snow more...sunday-monday i think north is gunna be more sunday night into tuesday hopefully

as far as Maine goes, as this predicted storm will be,

Shawnee Peak should get the most snow in Maine on Monday-Tuesday

after that it should be Loaf/SR getting the overall pounding.

Looks like I'll be at Shawnee on monday, and maybe tuesday, and SR after

yea this is a southern storm. mtns should get like a max 6 inches out of this. unless maine is different than NH. except SR is pretty damn close to the NH border

they downgraded a lil =(

I'll take a foot.

Ok, let me preface this by saying that I don't think this map is accurate; I think they're overestimating the area that will get hammered by this storm and I think they're overestimating jackpot totals of 30-40". But I'm sure a few of you guys will blow your loads when you see this so I figured I'd put it up. Again I think it's inaccurate but you guys will probably freak and it'll be funny. Let's hope I'm wrong.

That pressure in that low (965 MB) off the coast is equivalent to the pressure right in between a cat 2 and cat 3 hurricane, so this storm is no joke.

And jfyi, the NWS and Weather Channel are notorious for underestimating storm totals so I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit more than they are forecasting but I just don't think the PSU map is accurate in forecasting 24" for that large an area.
