OFFICIAL NEW ENGLAND WINTER 10/11 STORM THREAD

I can barely see out of my front window because of the piles of snow and we're getting another foot tomorrow!!!

Snow turned to sleet in Connecticut now, the sleet is rushing off my roof over my fuckin window.. this is epic lolz

Dynamics really shifted. Storm is taking a different shape. Warm air advection aloft is VERY strong too resulting in sleet/freezing rain for Southern New England.

We got dry slotted for a while this morning near Pico/Killington during the period when snowfall was to be the most intense. Wonder what we will end up with, but doubt we will see the 2-3'. Skiing will still be tits though.

Headed out now.

Yeah definitely a little different than I thought but still good. Before mixing was only happening way south of Boston, but now there's even a tinyyy bit of mixing in So NH, just enough that you can hear it hitting the windows and stuff. Not too bad at all though, still a ton of snow.

stratton only got like 9" and it stopped snowing around noon. Too bad it didn't live up to the hype but today was still good.

Coastal event. Storm track is going to be the determining factor. Temperatures will be warm too, but right now, looks like mixing line will be well south of VT and ME.

6-10 possible across Southern VT with the Saturday system. Temps will be on the warmer side, so it will be a wet snowfall.

Scratch that. Really looking like 4" will be the high range for far Southern VT. Very low ratio, wet snowfall with temperatures close to 32.

Saturday and Monday are not blockbusters but should freshen things up, hopefully mixing/rain is not an issue.

However, models are all in agreement of a monster Nor'Easter with very high moisture amounts and very low barometric pressures (indicating a very potent storm system) for later in the week around the Thursday time period.

Keep your eye on it. It's almost a week out though, so a lot can change though.

Yeah, scariest part (or best part) is that it is being picked up by most of the models too! Track is different, but intensity is pretty well mirrored.

Shit should be fun to watch unfold.

Last storm blew itself apart at the seams over the Midwest and did not deliver nearly the punch as was expected over New England. Still saw some decent overall totals, but never saw the 2-3"+ per hour snows that were being forecasted.

Storm watches have been hoisted for Central and Southern Vermont. Southern VT may see some sleet and ice issues. Worse the further south you go. Money spot in VT right now appears to be Okemo, Killington and Pico.

Don't expect blower, but it should make for a very nice day of skiing for Sunday.

its like snowing slush right now.. haha. We would of gotten so much snow with thursday!

Any other storms in the future? or are we done? :/

...it's still snowing in northern vermont. hopefully the tables have turned and we will continue to get the snow while down south does not. there's snow in the forecast for 5 out of the next 6 days.

Warmth is going to be pretty limited and it won't be accompanied by much if any moisture. Cold should be moving back in by Saturday.

It will be interesting to see what March brings us this year... Last 2 March's have been total droughts. Typically it is the big season for New England with high moisture storms.

I'm not even going to attempt to touch stuff that's over a week out.

Winter is FAR from over though.

Moving into a very active weather pattern going into early March. Lots of potential on tap.

Thursday-Friday time period has a storm on tap ut there is some key differences with the track that will really affect what type of precipitation falls and how much of it is around.

LOTS of stuff to keep an eye on for the next few weeks.

i got about 5 inches of snow with about a .25" of rain making for the heaviest snow of all time, i heard VT did a little bit better however
