Actually looks pretty cool, they put more effort into it than normal so I guess that's a good thing haha

I actually just saw the updated post after I posted this. It's interesting and ironic and great all at the same time.

V interesting, has this huge drop in with enough room for 3-4 features, looks cool though

I know that this is Holiday Valley and KB thread, but I am at school just south of Rochester. Is t Swain or Bristol worth the money to drop on a pass? they're both 40 mins away from me so it is pretty ideal for these two mountains. If anyone wants to help me out and guide this lost soul to the snow in this pancake flat area, I would be grateful.

I mean neither are horrible, I enjoy Bristol more but that's just a preference of mine. If it's a good winter and depending on what kind of skiing you do you will enjoy either place.

Bristol is better than swain, its mad decent actually. Two high speed lifts, killer snowmaking, decent parks, fair selection of trails. Bristol is pretty expensive imo, which is why I didn't go this winter. I think it might be worth your while to check it out if you want some quality skiing. If there is crazy pow and you're feeling bold, the trees next to commet are doable. Other than that the parks are pretty alright and the trails are fun. Take the loop (easiest way down from the top, through sunbelt and infinity and stuff) if you want some fun laps, if you go when there's been decent snowfall there should be little side hits everywhere, pretty fun to try and get creative on some of the stuff that turns up.

That's pretty much it, if ya got any question msg me!

Kids that go to Swain end up becoming some hard ass mother fuckers. Kids that go to Bristol wait in lines.

anybody seen the forecast for this week? Based on my observations from the past few years and my snowmaking knowledge, i personally think holiday could easily open the yodeler quad for the weekend with the given forecast. The only issue is the forecast for next week sucks and they may not want to risk the biscut by making snow snowz It certainly would be hype if they commited though.

They may possibly turn the guns on but they will be looking at long range forecast. Lift skiing won't be happening for another couple weeks.

Is Holiday building a park this year or is everyone just gonna come to Peak again to ski park?

Not a whole lot of people left holiday last year. Yeah there parks were not great. They have been on top of their park social media this year so it should defintely be a better scene for the parks this year.

I hope so, Holiday is such a nice resort it's a shame the parks are never that great. Wouldn't mind making some trips there this year.

What are the odds they actually open next friday? They are going to get pounded with rain tomorrow, almost an inch. They don't have a productive snowmaking forecast for next week

Yeah i have no idea.

Fuck NY weather i need to go to utah.

Pissing rain all day today. Gonna be in the 40s 3/4’s this week. I dont see them opening up at least until the first week in december.

Also hope to see holiday get their parks under control. Seems like theyre on the good end of a solid change.

They are literally grooming yodeler right now... its a tuesday and its 45 out there. I have no idea what they are doing but it is safe to say they are gunning to open friday

They'll groom out a base then blast more piles and then groom again

I know but that is something to be done at night. Doing it during the day melts a lot of snow

Was up to Holiday this week, park was one of the best they've had in years. Still so much potential, but they seem to be tapping into some of it finally.

Yeah, I was shocked it was so nice.

Side note: Hit Foxfire for the first time in a couple years, no park there or fence, I heard it's been a couple seasons. Glaring epiphany: WHY THE FUCK DID THEY EVER HAVE A PARK THERE? That trails headwall was so nuts, should have always been a race hill.

Oh snap! I forgot about that. Do they still do the spring jam, like back in the day? Assuming not, since there hasn't been a park there in years

They have some jumps on foxfire but they’re super sus.

Haven’t had spring jam since like 2014 or some shit.

Im an intern for the marketing team this year maybe I can pull some strings and see if they can bring it back, would be killer.

Got a question:

I ski at Holimont and I am pretty much one of three regular park skiers; not to mention our park crew just cannot build one decent jump. Next season I am contemplating buying a night pass for HV. First off, how have the parks been recently? I mostly jump but I do a lot of rails too. Secondly, what’s the park community like? Thanks

They don’t give a fuck about anything lmao no way that’s happening. If u wanna go ski up there you’re gonna have to bring ur own rails and hike till u either get kicked out or too tired

My brother and I will be hiking Holimont next Saturday. We have our own rails and tools. At Holimont I know they don’t give two shits anymore if you hike; my dad and have been doing it for years. But yeah I wish HV would do a spring jam. I know I would be there
