Official Holiday Valley / Kissing Bridge Thread

I was at HV today and didn't see any features. But then again there was 20'' of fresh and more coming down so It wouldn't make much sense to put in features just for them to get buried.
 
Holiday set up the park yesterday and it sucked... all of the features were mini features and they didn't even have a normal rail or anything up

I talked to some park crew guys and according to them that park was set up for kids to please the boss and that they are pumping out lots of snow on fids to make a legit park, hopefully soon! Starting to get boring just skiing down the hill...
 
Hey everyone who skis at holiday. I have a pair of mounted Armada Al Dentes. I am looking to sell them. I ski holiday valley every Saturday and Sunday and live in Lockport. I wanted to offer them up on here before I send them out on the sales forum. Overall they are in great shape, probably skied twenty times. Tons of edge left, one scratch in the base that needed to be repaired. They are 178cm white and black edition from two years ago. I am posting this on my phone and I am having problems posting pics. whats good with fiddlers? originally park crew said they were putting in features early this week, have they done that? if they havent, when will they?

Theyre opening fidds tomorrow with a bunch of decent looking features and a jump

Took the journey to holiday valley today and loved the jump, not too poppy, not too flat. The rest of the park kinda sucked. It was fun to actually make some turns with speed for once.

What!? the rebuild is fantastic! Best rendition of the fiddlers elbow park in my opinion!

Anyways, anybody have any updates about any comps or jams coming up?

I think they added more stuff after I came. They only had like 8 rails up and the jump.

haha thanks man! turned out the it was just the brake that broke and luckily i have an extra one laying around!

Haha i told u i thought it was the brake. It was so crooked. Somebody needs to invent a brake that you drill straight into the ski instead of the heel plate.

The jump has literally no pop. I may just be used to the super poppy ohio jumps. The rails haven't changed at all.

i couldnt clear it when i was last there, i couldnt get speed for it. but i havent been for like 4 weeks, what is the rail setup now?

Any Comps in the future? The Pop up events at holiday lived a short life and it doesn't look like there's going to be anything else.

Could we create our own event? lets get some ideas going!

I know for a fact there won't be anything open. Park crew is completely done for the season, unfortunately.
 
Rebuilt the 3 park at peek n peak tonight. Think you guys would really like it.

Set up is clean, flowy, easy and really fun.

Come down in the next two weeks before our seasons done for good and shred a dope park

Anyone know why HV doesn't have more features set up? Fiddlers is a huge step in the right direction, but what happened to snoozer? foxfire i kinda understand but still why? Just seems like they have several dozens of features laying around...?

exactly what bag o tricks said, according park crew, management doesnt care for or like parks. Ive also heard that one of the head managers daughter got a bad concussion when she was in a park(Not at holiday valley) and because of that he doesnt like park. It could also partially be that we have a pretty lazy park crew, they barely rake at all, and we've had the same 7 features basically the entire year and one jump(that changes speed and pop every other day) so when your park only consists of 12 features it gets pretty old. there are several features that are just sitting at the top of cindys that havent been touched for a while. They also took away fox fire as a park and made it into one of those race courses. Whether its management or park crew i think we can all agree our parks have been pretty weak the past 2 years

yeah i ski HV almost every weekend and it was sad this year. really dont understand why they took foxfire away

Its amazing how in the past three years every western New York place to ski has gone into the garbage can.
 
Peak park crew works their ass off and generally comes up with a dope park. Sleeper park near us is MSLM in Ontario, not a bad drive at all from the Buffalo area.
 
If the vanboiz want to migrate to peek n peak next year, I will make it worth your while by implementing things you guys want to see in our parks as well as creating quality content for you guys.

Please bring a ski scene to a hill that actually gives a shit about their parks. The end of this year was an exception due to horrible conditions but we tried our best to have a fun, flowy park throughout the season. We're stoked on you guys and dig what you're about.

It seriously sucks having 3 or 4 regular skiers in our park that you can rely on skiing with on a weekly basis. The parks are only gonna get better too.

Seriously think about it

I ran into your brother quite a bit this year. I was only up on Wednesday Thursday and fridays this year so i probably did miss you. I don't remember seeing you on the hill either. I wish we could have spun some laps together!
 
On May 27th there is a FREE rail jam at Mt. Snow called the "Peace Pipe Rail Jam." I will be going to this event from Buffalo NY. Anybody want to go? I have a van that can fit seven people. All I ask is that we split gas. I will probably find a campground to tent out at or just sleep in the parking lot. Right now my plan is to drive up on Friday the 26th and tent out. Ski all day then drive back after the event. I have my own car which is much better on gas but can only take 3 people with gear.

Pm me if you're interested. I feel like this would be a lot of fun for a cheap price.

Visit F&B out on the Carinthia deck at the hot dog cart for weenies and refreshments to keep you well fed so you can hike all day!
